Below via Press Release...

The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired left wing Simon Gagne from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, previously acquired from Phoenix, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

“Simon is an experienced veteran who will help us in a lot of areas,” Holmgren said in making the announcement. “We are glad to have him back.”

Gagne, who turns 33 on Thursday (2/28/80), returns to the Flyers after two years away from the organization. He was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning on June 19, 2010 in exchange for D Matt Walker and a fourth-round pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, which the Flyers used to select current Phantoms LW Marcel Noebels.

Conditional 4th?

Conditional on whether or not we tank for Seth Jones?

I think he'll be a good winger for Couturier.

I like this plan. I saw him in a couple games for LA and he didn't look terrible. So that's something, I guess.

Favorite Gagne memories:

-Beating the Rangers in OT with a goal like 6 seconds in (at MSG)
-Game 7 2010 semi's against Bruins...Gagne with the series clincher.
-2004 conference finals against Lightning..........game 6. Nuff said.

Give Foppa one of Oscar Pistorius' unused spatula legs and sign him up.

Gagne only annoyed me because he was injury prone, and played soft when returning from injuries. Has nothing to do with his skills.

Couldn't be happier about this. I love Gagne so much. Hopefully he'll retire as a Flyer now.

It was meant to happen. His veteran presence will really help the younger guys. Hope he can stay healthy, I'm pretty sure he can still be effective.
