I liked Gagne... Happy he'll get to play back in Philly, but I liked him.

Hate to break it to you, but I doubt we take advantage of that cap space. We still have to re-sign Scuderi, so he'll probably take that 3.5. Difference is, we can re-sign Scuderi now because of this trade

Not too thrilled about this. He's healthy and, in my opinion, brings more to the table than Penner. Will trust Sutter's judgement though.

Sad to see him go. This opens up a roster spot now though. So who fills it?

Might have actually gotten better offers from more desperate teams. He's probably throwing Holmgren a bone for letting us rob Mike Richards

Great to get some cap space back. I wonder if we're doing a deal for a D-man soon, or if this is just a way of doing Gagne a solid. Likely the latter.

My guess is he asked for a trade since he says he feels better than he has in years and isn't even playing. But I guess I'm curious what the Kings plan on doing with the open roster spot?

Just makes room for a Toffoli call up if the Kings need him.

Just wondering about the salary cap, how can Philly afford Gagne? I checked capgeek and their cap space is at 0 lol. Thats without Gagnes 3.5M cap hit added on top of that. Is there some kind of amnesty/wiggle room since its a shortened season?

No it doesn't. Gagne was a UFA next year anyways, and any Sucderi contract extension wouldn't start until then. This only helps cap wise this season.

He was a good guy, but I'm not going to miss him(pretty handsome, too). At least he will get more attention in Philly.

I'd guess the pick improves if Gagne performs well, or something like that.
