If Bourque produces at a 50 point pace(currently 28/48 or 48/82 games)...25-30 points this year...Cammalleri would need to be at 1 PPGM or more(45-50 points) to match his value as Bourque has been solid defensively and brings size and skill to the Plekanec line. Plus, that's without mentionning his 45% lower cap hit at the other assets(Holland and 2nd rounder) we got in the deal.
When all of the above can play like he has in the playoffs then I'll believe it was a good trade. Some people dislike Cam for whatever reason and I don't care...Habs fans are the most fickle fanbase in sports. Bourque was hated, now he's a superstar. Cam was a king, then turned into a bum a year later. Same thing is happening with Cole. People will sour on Bourque again...and question the "pieces" we got in the deal.
Those stats are Nashville, and I agree that Rinne is probably the best goalie in the game, the point being that the team could be a contender with Radulov, and this is coming from a Radulov hater.
The Oilers are another story, I can't believe a team could be bad for that long and only have decent defensive prospects in Schultz and Klefbom out of it.
Devan Dubnyk is the Jose Theodore of Edmonton.
If they make the playoffs, he is top ten for the Hart imo.
I know he is not the player he was but Gagne for a 4th is a good deal for the Flyers!
great deal for them...
they had a big need at winger, their obviously very familiar with Gagne (and likewise), and a 4th even in a "deep" draft has very little chance of becoming an everyday player.
I wonder if MB kicked the tires on him, and if not, I wonder why?

Happy that Cam is playing some good hockey.
It's very easy to see why Cammy was disliked. He pouted and acted like a baby after Gio was named captain. It's great that he had a monster playoff for us, but what he did the 2 years after also matter. Hard to keep a guy around with a bad attitude and poor production.
I do agree that fans overreact. Given his production, attitude and cap hit, moving Cammy was a no brainer and I'd venture to guess that no other team's offer was that close, he had history in Calgary and they were desperate.
They will miss the playoffs again this year so his past playoffs mean nothing.

1-we are pretty solid on LW with Pacioretty Bourque Galchenyuk/Eller and Moen
2-would have cost a 3rd rounder to "outbid" Phillie unless LA thinks they will have a huge turnaround.
3-no reason to "rock the boat" with the team 6-0-2 the last 8 games.

#Flyers already have No. 1 projected payroll for 2013-14 at $62M. An overage would make life difficult under $64.3M cap.

#Flyers will be at risk of a bonus overage penalty for 2013-14 if they continue on LTIR, if Schenn/Couturier achieve performance bonuses.

The more I think about that Gagne deal, the less sense it makes to me.
I know he's a legend for them, and he was cheap, but didn't that team need defense far more than more offensive depth? What exactly are they doing?
Bruins remain a solid, deep team, but they've had the easiest schedule in the league so far with the fewest games. They're rested and healthy. Very curious to see how their roster holds up over the next month.
