My best live show was probably O'Brother... or maybe Bon Iver. I haven't seen a lot of shows though.

My best live show was Murder By Death for sure.
Sounded better than on CD which is how it should be.

Or Fall of Troy.

I have to admit, I like Pink Floyd more than the Beatles. Usually. But there are times when I would much rather hear the Beatles than Floyd.

I've never seen either live, though. I've been to literally hundreds of concerts between 1978 and 1990. I used to sleep in line for concerts. I'd pay a friend or two to wait with me. I'd buy 10 tickets with each guy I had in line (you could do that back then) and then sell for a massive profit. I'd get my tickets (me and a date), my ride, my party, my T-shirt, etc for free, and still have $$$ left over. Since I waited in line, for days at times, I always sat in the first 5 rows. I have picks, sticks, and various other souvenirs. (I also have hearing damage and brain damage from it, but YOLO).

I lived for music when I was younger. Now, though, I live for my family. But, I'll never be too old to rock and roll, and I'm too young too die...
I know what you're saying with the "You Only Live Once".

I am certain that on top of being born in the wrong country (my love for hockey should have had me born in Canada), but also the wrong decade as well. I would have given anything to have had the opportunity to grow up in the 1960's.

That's one thing my mom and I have in common, we both like The Beatles (I love them, she likes them), that every time McCartney tours, I have to talk her into going, because tickets are expensive, but I keep saying, "Who knows when we'll have another opportunity for this?" And inevitably we go.

Seeing as how I was robbed of seeing the "Real Deal" back in the day, I was introduced to something quite amazing this past December. A tribute band called "American English", they perform as The Beatles, and while they don't bear a "strong" resemblance to the members, they have, in my viewings of their Live performances, they have nailed the physical mannerisms. I mean in how they strum and how they just play the songs, it is very close to how The Beatles did it.

If you're ever up for it Bubba, and they come to your area, I strongly recommend checking them out, they do a great job. When I saw them, there was more than one occasion on that evening where I was able to, just long enough, forget that I was seeing a tribute band, but rather thought it was the real deal.

BTW, if you live in the Denver area and ever get a chance to see a show at the Lion's Lair, I highly recommend it. Saw Cracker and a semi-reunion of Camper van Beethoven there, and loved every minute of it. It's a total dive, but in a good way.

The Dregs aka The Dixie Dregs were uber fun when I saw them. I saw that at the Rainbow Music Hall in Denver -- a little hall where we actually rested our arms on the stage in the front row. There was nothing between the stage and the audience. They were so tight. Fantastic time.

And Steve Morse is a phenomenal guitarist.

I've been to way too many concerts in just about every genre from Conway Twitty to Slayer to John Lee Hooker to Built to Spill to Arctic Monkeys to Mickey Avalon (those are interesting to say the least) etc. I have stupid taste in music. There are three artists that really stand/stood out. They aren't the most talented, but the best shows I have ever seen.

Hank III/Assjack

I have been 3 times and each was a 3+ hour show that went from old school country to punk to metal. Again not the most talented, but an extremely fun show. He even does a couple Pagan's Mind covers (not nearly as well though).

Ghostland Observatory

They have an amazing energy around their show, great light show, and super super hot girls to dance with.

Johnny Cash

He was old by the time I saw him live, but was just an awesome show. This might be totally sentimental on my part though.

Officially ditched my iPhone for a Samsung galaxy. It's a little complicated but I think I made the right choice.

Also made a new friend yesterday.

Good choice on the Galaxy, my dad just got himself into a Smartphone and chose the Galaxy, and he seems to like it.

Congrats on the new friend? Can never have too many of those.
