anybody else post on csnphilly.com? on the article about Gagne's return this moron actually said in the comments section that at this point Harry Z is a better hockey player then Gagne
I like briere but is it realistic to think gagne could maybe fill the production briere is bringing this year... I mean he isn't exactly lighting it up (briere) .... Asking if briere does end up getting moved
This is very interesting. I heard about the surgery but I didn't know the severity of the situation or how long it had been present. It does make me wonder if he just might have more left in the tank now than we've been thinking.
Lol I'm serious though, didn't he have a tumor taken out of his neck?
Haha yes he did. Non-cancerous and was supposedly causing him to have headaches.
I also remember when he was still a Flyer and dealing with lingering concussion symptoms he started having acupuncture on his neck, and said that helped him a lot.
But wait, wasn't he a healthy scratch the last 3 games for LA?
He's been a healthy scratch for 6 of their 17 games. I don't know what the reason was because they couldn't get a good LW for Richards and Carter. In the past few games Trevor Lewis was moved to their wing and Penner has been playing more. I don't know if he was in Sutter's doghouse from the beginning of the year. He has continually played Dwight King on LW even though he hasn't played well and he kept mentioning that King was working hard and that's why he was playing so maybe he didn't feel Gags was.
he still has that shot and is an incredible leader
hes been knocked around the past couple years but i still feel he can light it up given the chance, on top of that he's great defensively and the clutchest mother****er this world has ever seen
so i guess that means Briere is literaly obsoleted ??

Gags has 0 goals in 11 games this season and put up 7 in 34 last year.
So... the question is: can he still score or has his offense vanished just like Briere's?
Glad he went to the Flyers, that's where he belongs. Not overly happy with the trade as I think he still has some offense in him. He is mostly a setup man now, and doesn't play great defense which is a no-no in LA. He still has his speed and is now 100% healthy, so if you have some finishers on his line, he can be productive.

Awesome signing! Lost in all the analysis of Simon's deteriorating offensive abilities is the realization that he was always a great defensive player as well with hockey acumen to spare. I liken this move to Sami Kapanen's role with the Flyers in the twilight of his career. He's an upgrade regardless of any way you look at it.
Felicitations ā Simon pour son retour ā la famille Flyers!

This is dated material (Jan. 2009) yet related to the subject at hand. It's worth a read if for nothing else from a historic perspective:
