Oops, read 0 goals as points. Still ... it's another foolish trade in a long line of them.

I disagree. A fourth rounder has what % to make the NHL. It's not that high. Also Gagne provides a veteran leader that this team knows. He also had 5 assists while playing with Kopi in 5 games. He still has it, just was in the dog house.

So youre saying Gagne wont score this season and is worth less than a rando prospect who will play in the ahl??

Foolish how? It's a 3rd if we make the playoffs. A 4th if we don't. I don't see how this is such a risk. Also, doing this might start a change for the Flyers by trading some people for other picks or players. Which is something we might need.

A player who could help this season is worth more than a player that has like a 3% chance of making the NHL.

The only problem I have is the 3rd. Flyers have been doing well recently with 3rd round picks (Cousins and Gostisbehere)

He's not helping that much. This will likely take time away from Harry Z. We need to be playing young players and letting them develop, not bringing in old players that will not be around when we are ready to compete.

Same could be said about the Flyers' system this year minus the two blowout wins against the Panthers and the Isles

Seriously, I hope Gagne has something left in the tank and that he can provide a spark for this struggling team but let's not kill the momentum with unrealistic expectations. It's great to have him back but he still has to prove that he can be a visible upgrade out there.

If they're giving up a 3rd, it means they made the playoffs this year; I'll take that trade.

I think it's a good deal for you guys. He doesn't really fit with the Kings system, the Kings rarely score goals off a rush, they mostly just grind boards and find the dirty goals. I think the Flyers will give him a better chance than most teams to find his rhythm and scoring touch again.

But don't expect him to be fast or have a laser shot anymore. He's a depth forward with a scoring touch, not the force of nature he used to be.

Harry Z doesnt do anything except skate fast. I could care less if he takes time away from him. Gagne's two way play and leadership could help with Couturier and the young ones. Seriously, I would make a case for other players but Harry Z is a borderline NHL player.

Ehh, I think we need to be realistic. This team really isnt build to go too far. I doubt Simon Gagne can fix all the other problems this team has.

Because Harry Z has played amazing? He's shown some flashes but nothing too impressing. Gagne is a leader that can spark this team.

Harry Z is so good that I'm absolutely devastated by this. Before we traded for Gagne, I expected at least 2-3 Rocket Richards, a Hart Trophy, maybe a Conn Smythe, but with this tremendous blow to his development, I think he'll probably only amount to a fringe 4th liner now.

Terrible move by Holmgren

No, he didn't play with Kopitar, he played with Richards and Carter, as well as 3rd and 4th line.

LOL, spark them all the way to a second round sweep by Boston? Oh boy.

This team is not good enough. They should be acquiring assets for the future, not giving up assets for old UFA forwards.

THEY'RE NOT ****ING WINNING GAMES. Harry Z's "development" is going to have to take a backseat right now because this team is in danger of missing the playoffs.

Way to give up so quick. You'd make a hell of a GM.

This is more than a hockey move. The team is struggling right now and fans still show up but evidence of last night with all the booing, people are pretty pissed. What better way then to bring back a fan favorite.

Well, if they miss, it's a 4th.

I'm realistic; I don't think they're making the playoffs now... they need to go 18-9 (or pick up 36 points in 27 games; 55 points is the playoff number, roughly) to make the playoffs.

If the trade-off is a 3rd to LA because the Flyers made the playoffs, or a 4th because they didn't, I'd much rather see them make the playoffs and get the experience... even if it means a first round exit.

Can we rip the "A" off of Danny B's sweater and give it to Simon?
