Love Gagne and I'm so glad to have had him for a year in Tampa. Best of luck back in Philly!

Dear Paul Holmgren,

Please do us all a favor and release Mike Knuble. When he is on the ice, I feel bad for his linemates. Couturier, Talbot, Rinaldo, etc deserve much better. Hopefully Gagne is the better I am asking for.

He's not very fast or have that awesome shot he used to but he's still got upside and can usually be at the right place at the right time. If he can get the ice time I think it's a pretty solid bet that he can score around 20 goals over the course of a full season, barring injuries of course. He just wasn't getting to play on a regular basis on the Kings and when he did he did okay but didn't excel along the boards (very important on a Sutter team) the way bigger players do, like Penner or King.

Should be a good fit on the Flyers.

Seriously? A 4th rounder? Is this a joke? Avs should have jumped on this deal. FML
Not likely he was shopped around. Homer was the only call Lombardi made. It's become pretty clear that Gagne is not a Sutter type player, he's been scratched for several games this year and Lombardi did a similar trade two years ago when Ryan Smyth asked to be traded to the Oilers for family reason and DL obliged.

Gagne has played well this year the few games Sutter actually played him, got 5 points in 5 games and got benched. He's a good guy, class act all the way and will be a good mentor for Couturier , and a good linemate if he plays there.

Gagne has worked hard since having a tennis ball sized mass removed in June. He's pain free for the first time since 2009 and he said over the summer how anxious he was to play healthy again after three yeas of being in pain.

Good Luck Gags...in the more offensive minded Flyers system, you'll be scoring and productive again.

Simon Gagne is one of the few guys I couldn't hate no matter who he plays for. Good luck to him in Philly.

Simon's time here in LA:

Signs a nice, phat deal for an oft-injured old guy
Plays with a ton of old friends/teammates in Ricks, Carts, even JWill gotta say hay
Finally lifts Cup after team makes room for him in round four, regardless of chemistry
Meets the doctor of his dreams, finally gets mass removed from neck that "couldn't be removed" now possible to be healthy the rest of his life
Can't play for team, GM deals him to team of his choice regardless of best return value

Even white boys gotta shout, Gagne is back!

Meanwhile, Ryan Smyth cries, Kovie had a bad back despite no silver to carry, HF wondering if B Richards will be a buyout; Williams and Scuds with jewelry on each hand, Mitchell relaxing like a champ at home near the beach while the rest of Vancouver is courting their regular season hardware...

Man, you remember that time I almost dropped the Cup in front of the team and the fans on nationwide TV? Non? Oh, I guess you had to be there...

Nice to see Gagne return, but I am not really expecting that much out of him this time around.

Perfect trade for Philly, exactly what they needed really (other than the salary it brings)

Good add by Paul Holmgren!

I wouldn't have minded him on the Leafs if we weren't kind of crowded on the wing.

Solid pickup for Philly. I think he still has some game left in him but clearly not a fit with sutter.

First thing that came to mind for me, I approve of this move. He should have never left.
