I'm surprised no one has gone full-on Ex-Sabre with Rick Dudley's name in here.
I'm sure Gleason will begin the campaign very soon.

+1 for Burke.

The guy actively tries to make his teams better. His teams play hard (Anaheim, Toronto this year). He would get rid of the waste on the team in one offseason.

The same Burke that signed the Tinman? Gave Boston Seguin and Hamilton? No thanks. Anaheim's foundation was set up before Burke got there.

Nill or Hextall for me. Somebody new with new ideas.

I can't believe people are really advocating getting Burke.

To be fair, Burke would be ideal for you. When he got to TO, the team was horribad. The 1 mistake he made was misjudging the team he inherited. And unless Seguin and Hamilton prove to be better than Kessel....it's a wash. Buffalo doesn't need an overhaul, the need some tweaking. You have solid goaltending and other great parts. Burke would be ideal to "fill in the holes" IMO.

Why do fans love to recycle coaches and GM's?

My guy is Brent Flahr, Wild Assistant GM.

That's where the difference lies...Buffalo does need an overhaul.

Give Burke credit where it's due though. He did win a Cup and made moves to help both teams get stronger. Yes the core of Anaheim was in place before him, but his move to sign Niedermayer and trade for Pronger helped put them over.

Any GM in the league will make good and bad moves. At the end of the day though did they make the team better?

I don't have an issue with Nill or Hextall. I think either would be worthy of a shot. Some of these opinions on Burke are just spoiled milk.

My point was, you have some nice pieces to work with, Miller...Vanek...Hodgson...Grigs...Myers...ETC. When Burke go to TO...he had diddly dick.

He was horrible his last few years in Philly. They had to get him to step aside as GM.

Who would you want as GM

If it finally happens and Darcy is moved out of the GM slot...who do you think Buffalo would bring in as a GM?

Don luce?

Rick Dudley?

someone else?
