Agreed. Something is up, because Ryder was tied for the lead in scoring on the team.

lol I know that. Well I would say there was something going on, for him to be traded back to a familiar team in Montreal.

SHHHHHHH! Let's all just complain about a few bad regular season stretches!

Pretty scary that things are starting to move (Ryder, Gagne). Any doubts that PC waits too long?

Scabs fleeced the Stars.
That said, this trade DOESN'T really improve the Habs or the Stars on the ice.
This was a simple financial certainty for a pick trade.

Lots of people feeling we can do better the Ryder, which MIGHT be true. Or, we could go into the playoffs with Bourque and wonder why Chia didn't do something.

Michael Ryder would be a real upgrade to Chris Bourque.

Not sad that we didn't get him.

Chia needs to make some improvements to make the Bruins a Cup contender.

Top six player- scorer and PP person
Top 3 or 4 defenseman
Another third or fourliner player that can skate
Might consider a better back-up as well
I know he will, just hope that it makes us better.

I don't know. Cole has been playing like crap and Ryder has been playing pretty well. He still has the wicked shot. Habs definitely get better, at least offensively.

Give me a hard working player who accomplishes little over a guy who lazily shoots his way to 25-30 goals a year consistantly any day of the year.

Exactly. Even if Ryder is slightly better, It's not getting Ryder that helps the Habs, it's getting rid of Cole's bad contract and getting a pick. They'll have 4.5M more to shop next summer.

Jesus, what do people not understand about this fact:
You will not find a 3rd line player who has a perfect game because players with perfect games play on the 1st line and make 9 million dollars!

People insist that Chia go out and find a player like Bergeron or Crosby to play on the 3rd line, but expect him to get it done for the cost of a 3rd liner.

That just means they'll massively overpay for someone else. It's extremely rare that you get a star UFA that turns out to be a good value. Look at Vancouver, they bombed horribly on signing Jason Garrison. He has 3 points in 18 games.

didnt Ryder make that epic glove save in crease behind Thomas in game 5 or 7 against Habs? I know it was Plecanec because he looked at Ryder to say are you bleeping me and even had a slight grin

I know it doesn t get fantasy points but I thought it was a decent play overall considering if he doesnt the Bruins probably lose the game the series and we dont have a parade but hey....he sucked after game 4 (although I'm sure i'll learn it was his man that took the shot and he was out of position)

I hate that his first post-cup return to Boston will be with Montreal. I hope the fans still cheer him.

So, Ryder to the Scabs and all of the sudden, it's panic time? Still the same small defensive corps and still the same way to play them: extra physical. Color me unimpressed.
