Good to see him back as a Flyer. It was weird seeing him in any other jersey.

Glad he got his Stanley Cup and got to appear in some playoff games before he wraps his career up. Classy guy who has gone through a lot of ups and downs throughout his career. Just hope that he stays healthy and wish him the best.

It also goes to show the class of the Kings organization to realize that this wasn't working out and they dealt him somewhere he would be comfortable playing. They didn't shop him around and send him to a club where he wouldn't fit in, so kudos to the Kings for making the move.

They did this before when Lombardi sent Craig Conroy back to Calgary, and also had to accommodate Ryan Smyth in his wishes to return to Edmonton (although that was done begrudgingly and Smyth didn't help the Kings when he went public with his demands).

Low risk with a potential decent reward for Philadelphia and LA get's salary of their books and a player that hasn't worked out there.

I liked Gagne, sad to see him go. The Kings free up cap space for a non-utilized player for a 3rd or 4th. They will be buyers at the deadline, and with $9 million in cap space now, there are a lot of moves they can make and they now have 9 draft picks to help facilitate that.

I disagree with Sutter, and think he should have been utilized more in LA, but can't question our recent results without him. Glad he went to the Flyers. That is the perfect place for him.

First Holmgren tickles Deanos pickles with the Richards trade and now Deano licks Holmgren's you know what on the Gagne trade. Come on philly fans you know you love us LA fans, we're good trading partners. Might as well just lend you our cup for a day eh?

Flyers do like their french Canadians.

Giroux
Briere
Gagne
Talbot
Couterier
Gervais

Giroux, Gagne and Couturier were drafted by Philly. Simon Nolet (head Q scout and one of the best there IMO) with plenty of influence.

Good add by Paul Holmgren!
Wait a second, you look at the Flyers and think Gagne is "exactly what they needed"?

I agree! Gagne showed very good jump this season and looks ALOT better than he did at times last year. Playing with Couturier on the 3rd line or in the top 6 will utilize his assets. Plus Philly is ALOT more creative on offense than LA so he should do well.

Born in Arizona, but moved to New Brunswick at a young age and considers himself Canadian.

Fluent in both English and French.

His father, Sylvain, was born in Quebec.

Don't think the #flyers are doing trading after acquiring Simon Gagne from LA

Gagne is done for, if he ever plays another fully healthy season I'd be surprised if he cracked 40 points anymore. He has a lot of miles and a lot of injuries on his body.

He's 31 (going on 32 this week). Not much older than Hartnell, a few years younger than Briere.
