Yep that's how I read it. Looking at it though, it could mean the complete opposite of what I thought it did. We will see. I would think if we were making a move, it would get done fairly quickly here.

So maybe all the Briere trade talk isn't nonsense?

#Flyers will be at risk of a bonus overage penalty for 2013-14 if they continue on LTIR, if Schenn/Couturier achieve performance bonuses.

Just saw that as well. I think it is Feds who goes to Boston soon. There was interest in him before and GM Chairira;allala was scouting the Flyers. He also chatted with Homer for the 2nd period intermission.

You mean skating all over the Flyers' logo holding a Blackhawks flag after winning the Cup isn't a classy move??

Yeah, no

If we are trading that much, we should have gotten Weber.

This would rival the Patrick Sharp trade as one of the worst in team history.

No. They need a guy that can move the puck and provide some offense from the backend when they will inevitably be playing from behind. It was pretty noticeable last night if you didn't realize the problem earlier in the season.

Eh, Patrick Sharp wasn't that bad. Guy was a center stuck behind Richards, Carter, etc. and I don't think anyone had his upside pegged that high. He bloomed a little late and Chicago found a gem, not the first guy to break out late. Just for semi-recent examples the Eminger for a 1st was worse I think just because Eminger was a relatively known quantity at the time.

They need Matt Carle.

Anyway, getting Gagne means that Fedotenko is going - he's been replaced on the PK with someone who hopefully won't put is SH every night at a bad time. For that matter, if it got us a great prospect on D, I'd put Talbot in deal too. I like him but....

There are rumours that Briere is tradebait, but we'll have to see what happens there. If we could get a decent D prospect and a pick for him, I'd do it just for the cap room.

Pass on Buffy. No to trading Coburn, Couts, either Schenn. Just pass.

Who knows, when Mesz gets back we might have a good D corps again, and make a run to the playoffs.

I agree that something else is likely to happy now with Gagne back.
Feds has a limited no trade clause. He would likely accept to Boston since they are a contender.
Not buying the Briere trade rumors. Pass on Buff.

The Jets would ask the moon for Byfuglien and he's not that great defensively. Good on the PP, has a great shot, but defensively...

I'd use him on the wing anyway and the point on the PP.

Are these calculations based on the respective weights of the players involved? If so, I'd say your calculations are pretty accurate. Couturier is like 190lbs, Coburn is like 210lbs, and I've heard Byfuglin is around four hundy these days, so I buy it.
