Peoria is a wasteland and thats what happened to Mcrae. Something needs to change down there.

Great night for a few of our prospects: Jaskin had 4 points in his first game back from the 3 game suspension (1G, 3A), and he is now just 5 points behind the QMJHL scoring leader, who has played in 15 more games. Vellieux had 2G, 2A; and Rattie had 2 goals, 1 assist tonight.

Jaskin's going to finish 2d behind Drouin in the Q and Rattie's probably going to finish 3d behind his two teammates in the W.

I suspect that will be the case as well - he has been on an unbelievable tear since the WJC's, but he can't possibly keep up that pace.

I think he can keep up the pace or close to it. It's just that Drouin is already past him in fewer games. (He could still beat Drouin with a burst, though obviously Drouin is two years younger and the more prized prodigy.)

Drouin 41gp 35g 54a 89p (2.17ppg)
Jaskin 44gp 40g 45a 85p (1.93ppg)

Each team has 11 games remaining on its schedule.

Yeah, we'll see - it's something like 3.5 points per game for the last 15 games. Nonetheless, the scoring race should be close if Jaskin doesn't get suspended again.

Anyone have the Future Watch prospects list for the Blues which just came out? I know they ranked Tarasenko #1 overall. Wondered what the Blues' top 10 looked like.

I'm not that worried. In the past we've put 1 or 2 players into a bad situation in Peoria and it has never worked out. Next season there is going to be a significant influx of talent (Jaškin, Rattie, Edmundson, Binnington, Tesink, Hakanpää & Eronen).

Any changes might be subtle, but I don't think that we are going to put that much of our future there without conducting some sort of review of operations in the summer.

I hope so, It just seems like a negative losing culture down there.

They've just never had that much talent. That should change in the coming years.

Yeah I believe once we start bringing in our newer prospects it will be a change of pace for the Rivermen. It will almost be a whole new team.

May have missed it, but Parayko had 3 assist in one game the other day. His stat line is now 4 goals and 10 assists. Looking like a good pick up.

Thanks. It was actually 2 assists. The team's websites don't always update the stats right away and I don't usually go through and check each individual game. Thanks again.

How does Jaskin only have 1 goal 1 assist in a 12-1 game late in the third?

I'm pretty sure Binnington has another year in the CHL.

Nope. This is Binnington's 4th OHL season. No reason why he shouldn't be in Peoria next season. He's even already signed.

I wonder what the plan with our goalies is next season.

Stick with Halák & Elliott and have Allen splitting time with Binnington in Peoria? Halák & Allen with Binnington & Karpowich/McKenna in the AHL?

I think the latter is probably the better option. I think Allen should be in a position to do a decent job, saves the team some money and gets Binnington more games in the AHL. The argument about sending him down this year is that he needs games, that won't really apply next season because he either be splitting time with Jaro in St. Louis or Binnington in Peoria.

He got 4th line minutes. They were playing the heck out of the bottom 2 lines as can be evidenced by a 3rd liner and a 4th liner each getting a hat trick.

He only got a couple of brief shifts in the third period.

If any of you are in Canada, Jaskin and Veilleux will be playing on Friday Night Hockey on Sportsnet tomorrow night. NHL Network might pick up the game but I don't think so.

You guys might be able to find a free stream though.

I'd like to see Halak/Allen with the big club and Binnington/Mckenna in Peoria. I think Allen is ready to see some real time in the NHL. Mckenna is a more than capable AHL goalie. He's a solid goaler, and an even better teammate. He's a guy that's willing to teach the young guys the rope, but easily able to step in and be "the guy" at that level.
