Classy move by Zolnierczyk, weird number though, doesn't exactly send out the message that Z thinks he's close to cracking the line-up.

Can't wait to see the reaction here until Homer drops the real bomb in which he trades Couterier for someone like Sheldon Souray. This trade is just more of the same from him, no respect for the need for future assets and development.

He, perhaps, gets the distinction of wearing the former numbers of Gagne and Desjardins in the same season.

Homer is a joke of a GM that took a young team that was in the Cup 3 years ago to one that will be lucky to make the playoffs and has one of the worst minor league systems in hockey.

Of all the things to get pissy about... Gagne for a third rounder is the least of the team's reasons why they have a bad minor league system.

Well, that's certainly a much cooler take on the situation. I like Harry Z. He's looked good in the fourth line role in the limited time that he's gotten this season.

Hard to believe they let him have #12 and passed up such a huge merchandizing opportunity.

He took a young team that went the Finals 3 years ago, to an even younger team that made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs their first year together, beating the Cup favorite in the first round. Now they're struggling in a condensed schedule and you're ready to jump ship. Hilarious.

I assume you're joking but he wore the number for a decade. There was no doubt he would wear 12

Didn't he also take the worst team in the NHL and get them to the playoffs/Finals/SC Finals within a few years?

Homer's not perfect, but he's pretty good at icing a competitive team.

Also, if a 4th round pick for Gagne chaps your ass so much, how are you not already dead of a heart attack from Homer trading all of our 1st/2nd round picks?

They probably told him he was getting a new number, as it's unlikely he'll remain on the NHL roster. Gustafsson was given his old number. These two guys should ask for #89 and #98 so that they can stop screwing with them.

I'm sure that nugget of bar trivia will garner him more than one free pint in his lifetime.

Going to assume that last part was not directed at me...

But yes I agree, Homer isn't the best, but he always keeps the team in the hunt.

Of course if you blame him for that, you need to give him credit for getting there in the first place.

Especially since 2 years earlier, the team was in last place.

Yeah, Homer was great when he was living off the Clarke draft years.

LOL Flyers have one of the best group of young players in the league and people complain about their AHL players. Some people will never be satisfied.
