You're forgetting that PL is so egotistical that he thinks if he makes a conference trade, he's 100% always getting the best end of the deal and that it will be Winnipeg who suffers.
PL clearly has a lot of influence on how the Avs negotiate contracts and do business but I doubt he's involved in the trade process.
I wonder who the Jets and Rangers are scouting since O'Reilly isn't even playing. How many times do you need to watch O'Byrne in person before you realize you don't want him?
The second Sherman gets an offer he would be willing to pull the trigger on, he's in the drivers seat. He can then see if the other teams are willing to beat it.
We know what teams have been scouting the Avs. Any idea what teams the Avs have been following around?
Imagine if the Avalanche grabbed both Burmistrov and Bryan Little in a trade with Winnipeg. They'd be 11 deep on offense going into next season and could focus solely on defense in the off-season.

Just a guess, but I think the package we are demanding for O'Reilly(two very good pieces) has us including a depth D or forward. Teams are probably continuing to scout potential additions while negotiations continue.

Yes, I know it's a pipe dream.
That would be a nightmare for me.
I don't mind either one of them but Sherman has a chance to add a good young defenseman right now by trading O'Reilly. We don't have many good pieces to trade other than O'Reilly and there won't be any good defensemen available as free agents.

By this do you mean
1) Guys like Zanon, Hunny and Kobasew
2) Prospects like Sgarbossa and Elliott
3) Guys like Hejda and McGinn
I'd be downright shocked if Little isn't the forward included in a trade with Winnipeg.
Me too, and I have no inside sources. I'm sticking with Little + Trouba/Scheifele for ROR +. Depending on the + it might an overpayment for ROR, but that is what will be required to get him.

I'd say that's more than a guess, it's very likely the case.

no, we need to come away from this trade with a potential #1 D man. so it'd likely be Little + Trouba. or someone they value less + Trouba.

It wouldn't be my first choice but I wouldn't mind it.

Trouba would be a dream. I would do that strait up, no need to add on the other side.
That would be extremely foolish. He's a very nice prospect but has proven nothing in the NHL yet. There have been very many players looking extremely good after their draft year only to not progress as well as expected. The Avs need a better return that that since they are giving up an accomplished core player.
