Lundqvist hasn't been a brick wall in goal, the Rangers have key injuries, but when healthy, they haven't exactly been world beaters. At this point, you either change the system they're playing or change the coach. The players don't fit this system.

The Winnipeg Jets were the perfect team to play as a re-entry point into solidifying their game.

Not that I count my chickens before they hatch, but I would have thought they would land this one for the full 2 points.

Postscript: the footage of the running around in a panic just before Kane's first goal should be used for a horror flick.
They looked great pushing for the tying goal at the end, balls to the wall, but...aah...who knows.

Horrific!
Boyle is a big lumbering pile of useless.
Richards is invisible.
No continuity
Krider looks like he forgot how to play.
SOFT
Matt Gilroy had more shots on goal than Gabs
Can somebody make a hit!

Adding to this Lundy actually has a better Save% than Broduer. So it amazes me that the devils are right there within 2 pts of being division leaders. Defense anyone? How can Lundy face more shots make more saves than broduer and we are 10th in the standings while the devils are 6th yet are 2 pts from division lead and moving into 2nd or 3rd in the conference. Defense anyone? The team in front of Lundy is horrid.

But apparently Lundqvist sucks and is not a franchise goalie.

I believe it's a conditional pick, no? Like a lotto protected kinda thing. Or perhaps I have no idea what I'm talking about.

**Update.... I must be drunk off two drinks. It's totally their pick...non-conditional.

If only.

The 3rd round pick is conditional on the Rangers making the cup final. Well, at least we'll have that 3rd....

It's fine getting on Lundqvist and acknowledging when he lets in a bad goal. But alot of people love going off the deep end and say flat out stupid stuff. There's a big difference.

Pissed off Lundqvist let in that fourth goal? Yeah..am I. But the rest of the team manages to piss me off more.

I haven't seen it but I'm sure it'll be "I saw some good things. I thought we had a good game. We were good in the third. We got some good things done. We just lost the game. I'm not getting into that. No. No. We did ok, i thought we played well. No. We came out strong in the third. We played a good game, just couldn't get the W. None of your business. Ok? We good? K."

yeah I googled it after my last post. I knew there was something conditional about the deal. haha

Man, if we miss the playoffs, AND have no 1st? That would really be rough. Although I'll draw comparison (as I did last week) to the last 2 seasons before we won the cup the last time:

'91-'92-President's Trophy (we were 1 point away)
'92-'93 Miss playoffs
'93-'94 Won Cup

The definition of a masochist - I'll be away until Thursday night, but I programmed the DVR to watch the game on Thursday when I get home.

As for tonight, this team is going in the wrong direction. They wasted a great performance by Callahan, gutty performances by some other guys. But they just have way too much dead wood on this team to be contenders for anything. Boyle, Bickel, Mashinter, these are not NHL players. And Richards and Gaborik are near invisible. If you're going to ice such crap, you need your goalie to stop reading his press clippings, to go to a few less guitar jam sessions and to stand on his head in games. That he certainly hasn't done. Mostly he hasn't been bad, except for tonight and one or two others, but this isn't all-world goaltending. And it makes him look even worse that the Rangers offense makes the other teams goalie look like the second coming of Dominik Hasek and Patrick Roy combined.

One other thought - can we decline the power play?

They need to implement a rule that the team getting the power play can choose to take the PP, or just have two minutes run off the clock. Would benefit the Rangers since we give up more chances than we generate.

How the **** does Mike Sullivan still have a job?

To be fair, I expected NJ and NYR to feed the Jets losses. The Rangers definitely aren't last year's team.

I've run out of things to blame so I'm going to expand my list:

1. BlueshirtBlitz: For removing his "Bard" Richards avatar.
2. KreiMeARiver: For ditching his successful NHL 13 pre game predictions.
3. nevesis: For reminding me how much money Richards makes.
4. Machinehead: For boycotting, then not, then boycotting, then not.
5. Ailurophile: For speaking of conspiracy theories in the OT thread.
6. Bill Pidto: Seriously. **** that guy.
7. This Strawberry Jam: It sits in my fridge and reminds me of the obvious.
8. Insomnia: Overslept and missed a class today.
9. Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery: For enacting Operation Market Garden. It was bad.

I may have missed a few.

Maybe he also knows how to drive the Zamboni - I hear Dolan likes to save a buck.

Anyone else say out loud "Well, there goes any chances of a comeback" when the Rangers got that powerplay late? Man, it's sad when you get depressed when calls go against the opponent.
