More advanced version of the realignment plan:

Quote:
The playoff format calls for the top three teams in each division to earn post-season berths. The remaining four spots would go to wild-card teams, the top two records remaining in each conference. That means there's a possibility five teams make it from one division and only three from another.

It would be divisional playoffs, not conference playoffs, so 1 vs. 4, 2 vs 3 in the first round. The two fourth seeds would be made up of the wild-card teams. The top division winner based on regular-season points in the standings would face off against the lower-ranked wild-card team. The other division winner would play the higher-ranked wild-card.
They eliminate the separate conference fiction but retain the inter-divisional playoff scheme. They solve the unbalanced conferences by giving up 2 general wild card spots per conference. Which means that first round doesn't have to be purely inter-divisional, but only if one division sends 5 teams and the other sends 3.

Under that plan, if the season were to end now, the playoffs would be:

Pacific:
1. Anaheim v. 4. Dallas
2. Vancouver v. 3. LA

Midwest:
1. Chicago v. 4. Minnesota
2. Nashville v. 3. STL

Current system:
1. Chicago v. 8. LA
2. Anaheim v. 7. Detroit
3. Vancouver v. 6. Dallas
4. Nashville v. 5. STL

I really hate the realignment. It's still an unbalanced schedule. I also prefer the variety of playoff match ups in the current system. Oh well.

Wings fans all in a tizzy on the MB over Penner's hit. The Queens never get called on that stuff.

Ughhh. My dad (Kings fan) keeps telling me how much better Kopitar has been than Getzlaf this year

All I can do is laugh at how untrue that is

Yeah, that's a tough sell Getzlaf IMO will always have an offensive edge, I guess Kopi lovers can make a case for his defensive game.

Meh, Kopitar is not playing that well. He is PPG, but Carter is playing better IMHO.

Hi Guys, hoping I am not wrong here - (was searching for a "fan gear thread")...

I was searching for a Flexfit anaheim Cap (L/XL) but not finding many shops which will send to Germany with a fair shipping price..

Does anyone of you know where to buy this one :

for a moderate shipping rate?
The official NHL store has it, but only this hat including shipping will cost me 60 USD .. that's a little bit much.. That one above is absolutely great..

In addition, most sellers on ebay or else do not ship to Germany.. that's strange, because most of the people who (for example) sell TBL gear sell to Germany..
Would be great to get a feedback from you here (reebok flexfit hats are welcome as well, and a coffee mug, too ;-))

Yep that's right.
But there's only size s/M and m/l available.
Amazon.com does not send to Germany, however (tried that some weeks before, did not work)

The Sharks announcers are trying to legitimize running the goalie as a needed thing in the game, and Remenda is repeatedly saying the GM's need to get rid of the protection goalies get at their next meeting. They finished up by saying that unlike a quarterback, nobody goes to a hockey game to see a goalie.
