He meant because Columbus has the Rangers' 1st rounder (I assume that's what he meant).

Fortunately no one in NHL organizations listen to fans. If fans knew what they were talking about they wouldn't be sitting on their back sides watching games and whining, they'd be in a hockey organization.

I hope not. He doesn't let the Rangers play until they are two goals down in the third period. They look pretty good when they are allowed to play.

Wait till the end of the season. They're struggling now, but there's still time to turn things around. If they make the playoffs, anything can happen. They did make the Conference Finals last year.

If they miss the playoffs all together, or lose in the first round, then I'd say fire him.

I hate seeing **** like this.

All that feel good ******** from the 90s Rangers. With Richter, Leetch and Graves coaching.

Enough. Just because most of these guys were great players for the team doesnt mean theyll be the right fit to coach them.

Its bad enough we milk the **** outta 1994 during every intermission. Its embarrassing really.

Either way, its 2013 not 2004. Its a different NHL, and the personnel he has is different than last year. Tortorella hockey can go **** itself. Hes gotta go. Square pegs/round holes dont work.

I don't know why I even bother anymore, but Tortorella isn't getting fired. The Rangers finished first in the Eastern Conference last season, made it to the Eastern Conference Finals, and altogether had the best season the team has experienced since 1997. He's not losing his job over a crappy couple of months. Stop posting stupid crap, everyone.
I agree. I think Torts makes some stupid decisions sometimes but I doubt he gets fired this year.

The injuries and short season are surely on his side, unfortunately.

Earliest any firing would be done is 2014 if they still underachieve.

No in my opinion.

Many NYR fans are blaming literally everything on him. Why are the lights so low at MSG? Torts! Fire the clown!

The team turned over a lot of the roster and lost a lot of really key players that played big parts in establishing the team's identity last year. Guys like Dubi, Prust and Fedotenko didn't make such a difference in terms of points scored, but they played Ranger hockey to a T and Torts knew exactly how to get the most out of last year's collection of players. I think Torts is still trying to figure out how this new roster can make the most of their talents, which is difficult to do with short camp, no preseason and then a rough start and injuries to key players. Having said that, the team doesn't have confidence like they did last year and I will blame Torts for that in part. As a coach, he's got to get them feeling good about their game, though when players go out and fail to perform, some of it is on them too.

In addition to all that, Richards, who is supposed to be a huge part of the team, is obviously not in NHL shape. He did not train as he would have in a regular season, and I suspect a few other NYR players also fall into that boat.

Ultimately, I don't think you fire a coach who got your team to the ECF and coached it to it's best season in decades because of a portion of a short season with a half-new roster. If he fails to adjust and the team continues to flounder over a longer period of time, then, yeah, you've got to seriously think about going in a new direction.

Yes, I really hate him as a coach and he shouldn't coach a team in the NHL anymore.

Yeah thank G-d there were no fans talking the Rangers' organization out of drafting Jessiman. Side stepped that land mine.

Tortorella isn't to blame for the injuries. I do think the team needs to fire him, though.

Not his fault that Hank got exposed tonight.

I think Hank gets nervous when he plays against truly talented goal tenders like Pavelic, because he knows he's just a fraud with illegal equipment.

Did you see him flailing around trying to glove that last goal

I know this thread is partially joking (or at least I hope so) but Hank gave up 2 goals total last year to the Jets in 2 games. He wasn't "exposed" he had a terrible game. He has those once in a while. Not a good moment to have a terrible game. Team counted on him and he let them down. Still had nothing to do with being exposed.

Oh and once again with just ridiculous that post is, I figure you're being facetious. Either way, he's been getting away with illegal equipment for this long?
