Dean Lombardi on Simon Gagne Trade

Listen in on General Manager Dean Lombardi's conference call as he spoke to the media about the Simon Gagne trade on 2/26/13. He also addressed the current injuries on the team and gave his overall evaluation of the 2013 season.

Yes. AMart is on sked. Greener is possibly ahead of sked. Mitchell <long answer hard to summarize but doesn't sound good>.

Said A-Mart is on schedule, Greene is a little ahead of schedule, but given the severity of the injury, he will be out for some time. Mitchell is still unknown, just out indefinitely at the moment, and it doesn't sound like he will be back soon. So A-mart is the only one due back soon.

First I thought it was a week, then two weeks, now it's up to four weeks?

First Mitchell's injury is unknown, now A-Mart?

This is frustrating...

He mentioned that it had to do with "rich plasma therapy," which when he was originally talking about it, I thought it might be draining the knee, as some NBA players have had.

In researching "rich plasma therapy," I came upon this article. DL said Mitchell was responding well to it, and that Mitchell told him he felt better after the procedure.

This is good news, and we'll see where it goes from here. It sounds similar to what Andrew Bynum had for the Lakers either last season or the season before, but he was playing at the time and he had the procedure between games.

Will post a link to this post from the Mitchell thread.

It's the same thing Billingsley had done on his elbow this offseason in hopes of avoiding Tommy John surgery. He was throwing the ball in the mid-90s without pain by November. Hopefully it will fix Mitchell right up.
