I really wish they would put Gagne on his line, I feel like they would do well together. Something like

Hartnell-Giroux-Voracek
Briere-Schenn-Simmonds
Gagne-Couturier-Talbot
Rinaldo-Fedotenko-Knuble

The 4th line is basically just the leftovers but I like that top 9 better than any variation that includes Knuble or Fedotenko in it.

Capitals are looking pretty good recently. Hopefully the Flyers can pull out a win here. It's going to be interesting to see what the lines look like especially after reading that article (Feds-Briere-Knuble is probably the worst line I've seen in years).

The lineup just feels right with Gagne on it

Curious, why is it 7:30 and not 7? Unless the only reason is that it's national?

It's the national game. Wednesday Night Rivalry.

Swap talbot with feds and all of the suck will be contained in a single line.

Quick question, hopefully someone has an answer. I'll be in the Washington D.C. viewing area for this one. Will it be blacked out on NBCSN and covered on the local Comcast Sportsnet DC? I really don't want to listen to Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin.

That would be amazing. But knowing it's a national game, they would never show it.

You're doomed. Pretty sure you'll be stuck with the locals.

Laughlin is the wingman? If so, he has one of the worst voices in all of broadcasting. I can barely stand watching the highlights, so I can only imagine how bad it must be listening to him the whole game.

There's a lot of play by play/color guys that bug me for many different reasons. None of them bug me as much as Craig Laughlin, and that's saying a hell of a lot. I honestly sometimes think he's maybe a bit... "touched", shall we say? (not that there's anything wrong with that )

if lavy is smart he will put gags on the ice for the Puck drop, the crowd will be deafening and it should boost us right off the bat, also a video of great gags moments just before the rink announcer says"arrrrrrreee you reeaaady for some hoooockey!?!?" would make it riot worthy in there.

Yeah there will probably be a brief mention of the trade and a :10 clip of old Gagne plays in Philly, followed by the most recent Crosby related news, then more Crosby news, then somethign about the Crosby-Ovechkin rivalry because they are playing the Caps, then Malkin's injury, then Crosby's dinner plans, then maybe something about the game that is being played tonight.

It really is a shame that Crosby hasn't taken to twitter yet. If he were on twitter, he could tweet Pierre during all the NBC/NBCSN games that Sid isn't playing in and Pierre could update all of us on what Crosby is up to. It would really spice up the broadcast IMO.

Honestly, I can't get enough of Crosby. I feel like there should be an NBC camera crew that follows him around 24/7/365 and they should post a feed on their website "Sidney Crosby lIfe-SO Cam." Pierre could commentate the whole thing. It would be magical. "Ohhhhh! What a crap by Crosby! One solid piece!!! No wipe necessary!! Such great skill from Sid the Kid!!"

I think I'm going to go patent that camera name actually because sooner or later, Pierre will propose that idea.

From now on every game is a key game. if they can't even jump over the 0.5 mark asap, the playoffs are essentially out of reach by mid march.

Beautiful. I was hoping by some miracle through the new Comcast/NBC junction thing that I would get the national coverage. Homerific doesn't even begin to describe that duo. The 2008 Caps/Flyers series was borderline ridiculous.

No, I think you're good. I sure hope so anyway since I live in NoVA. I don't think that local cable preempts NBCSN though I can't remember for sure.

Let me look at the cable box though...hrmh, both CSN and NBCSN show the game at 7:30.

capitals.nhl.com says: LIVE ON TSN2, NBCSN

I think we'll only have to suffer through the NBC guys and not the even worse DC guys.
