Shore continued his point streak which is nice, but Maine loses and falls back to 9th place ... only 4 games remain to get into the HE tournament (Top 8)

Winther's sure tapped the breaks on his offense. He was hovering near PPG around 20 games ago.

He's been playing a Bottom 6 role since the trade deadline. Same thing happened to Ritchie in last year's playoffs.

With Ritchie, we know he took major steps forward as a two-way forward because of it. I haven't seen any recent PA games so I don't know if Winther responded the same way.

The demotion, according to the articles I read, wasn't a punishment or anything. They just geared up for the playoffs, and they wanted to spread the talent.

He'll benefit next year from older guys moving on to pros ... specifically Chicago prospect McNeill.

Ok, so it is probably a good thing for his development and I don't need to worry that he caught the terrible bug Goligoski has been trying to shake.

I wonder what the team is going to do with Vance, send him back to the QMJHK next season or bring him to the pros.

My guess would be the pros. Something's going to give, and I expect them to have room for both Oleksiak and Benn (potentially Top 6 or just the 7th) on the NHL roster next year.

Signed: Jokipakka, Klingberg, Labrie, Nemeth, Vance

UFA: Fortunus, Sloan

RFA: Coyle, Sneep

I'd like them to sign Fortunus and Sneep, and I'd like William Wrenn to get an ECL as well. Klingberg is a question mark, but he could go pro next season.

Jokipakka-Fortunus
Nemeth-Kingberg
Wrenn/Vance-Sneep

ECHL: Labrie, Wrenn/Vance

Texas can sign Baldwin to serve as the 7th D.

Mike Winther has recently moved to wing, and he's playing on Prince Alberts top line with Mark McNeil.

Radek Faksa returns in a few minutes from his knee injury. He's missed 15 games, and Kitchener has 8 games remaining in the regular season. The team has already secured a playoff spot. He will center the top line tonight.

It's unlikely ... I'm still crossing my fingers ... but Niagara could actually fall out of the playoffs. They had a pretty nice lead to the point a month ago it looked like they were locks. How'd that Joe Nieuwendyk School for the Trade Deadline workout for ya Coach/GM Marty Williamson?

Sooner Niagara is out of the mix, the sooner Brett Ritchie starts his pro career.

In the month of February, the team went 4-7-0. The Peterborough Petes are currently in 9th place, and they are 7 points back of the Ice Dogs. Both teams have 7 games remaining.

In Niagara's last 7 games, they play 6 games against playoff teams. All those teams have a better win% than the Dogs. They only have 1 game against a non playoff team.

The Petes have a similar remaining schedule. Go Petes!

I mean, it wouldn't be terrible if Ritchie got some more OHL playoff experience.
