SJ is probably looking to make major changes soon. They will be moving Clowe, Murray and possibly some others soon. Time to hand the reins over to the younger players like Couture and Pavelski.
We all know the Rangers are interested in ROR. I stand by my thoughts fro before:
MDZ + Boyle (being showcased) for ROR + Elliott/Barrie

Makes too much sense
If sj wants a trade and make changes i would deff center a trade around...
Gaborik+ for Pavelski, Clowe in a second.. add toughness and Pavel can play wing and center
Wouldn't scouting players for additional pieces in a ROR trade be part of his job? We're not playing any west coast teams this season, so if not to scout trade targets, why else would they have been following the Avs around for 3 straight games?
I don't think Pavelski would be the one moving. Clowe and Murray are UFA's. I could see Marleau or Thornton moving though.
true but he's under contract for the same years as Pavel so i thought it would make sense... but I can see what your sayin..
would you want either of them tho? i would pass on both...
but clowe, murray and 1st for Gabs? i think we could do better with him gabs but I dont think it wouldn't take much to get either of them (picks/prospects).. Murray would be good but we already are deep at LD we need Rd.. whos good rd that could be available?

I don't think they'll go that far. I'd say Murray and Clowe are definitely available. Then maybe Demers is borderline. Boyle, Havlat and Braun as long shots. Don't see the point of dealing anyone else.
Of course now that I say that, Sather is going to come out of left field and swap Gaborik and Richards for Thornton and Boyle.

ROR+Pick for MDZ
Pick (COL)+ for Murray, Clowe
I wouldn't take (2) UFA's for Gaborik. It would need to be a good young player ++
I would look at Murray, depending on the cost.

I agree, although I wouldn't be absolutely blown away to see Marleau and Thornton moved. Hasn't worked.
To all the Zuccarello haters here - please read The New York Post today. Not making him out to be a savor or anything - but I have consistently been pointing out that the Rangers should bring him in to New York as soon as his KHL team is eliminated (to constant ridicule and despise) to try to add a dimension to the PP. Included this in many a way here on the HFBorads to strengthen the team in an area of great importance where we are worst in the NHL today.
And lo and behold - Glen Sather totally agrees. Where all you know-it-alls now?
Especially thinking about one person...
Bow down ---
Zuccarello looked a hell of a lot better than Kreider or Miller. Beggars can't be choosers. We need some competent NHL bodies on the 3rd line. Those guys ain't cutting it.

Zucc doesn't look that good playing for this coach though...
let's be honest here... we called up Krieder in the playoffs and he was very good for us offensively.
He exceeded expectations. He made mistakes, sure, but that's part of the process. He should be here getting top 6 minutes, making mistakes as he contributes.
We can trust Krieder in the playoffs, but this coach can trust him in reg. season games?

He's ruining this kids confidence right now.
Stop with this ********.
'He's ruining this kids confidence right now."
No he's not. This is a man's sport. Chris Kreider is not a ****ing cry baby. He's feelings are not 'hurt'.
CHRIS KREIDER is responsible for playing like ****. NOT John Tortorella.
The Kreider we saw last year in the playoffs is a COMPLETE different player than we are seeing now. If you don't notice the difference I suggest going back and watching those games. He was electric when he first came up. Skating hard, hustling to loose pucks, using his body, etc.
I've said it before here, ever since he got laid out by Orpik, he's been timid, and playing scared.
It has nothing to do with Tortorella, he has no choice but to play him right now due to the injuries. Someone needs to talk to the kid and tell him to get hungry again, because right now he's playing like a straight up vaginal canal.

Saying he "trusted" Kreider in the playoffs is a stretch. His hand was forced with Hagelin being suspended and Boyle being injured. Kreider looks lost in the NHL, and Miller, while better, still isn't ready for prime time. Zucc, while certainly not the best option in the world, still contributed to this team more than either of the kids have so far.

I agree, and Im not much of a fan of Zuccarello at all.
Completely agree Zucc has looked better than both with the exception that maybe Miller is similar or better at not getting knocked off the puck. I still think Zucc is an NHL player, just not under Torts.
