I was under the impression that the 4 Conferences were separate and had nothing to do with East/West but apparently not.

Theres a poster on our board who for some reason loves to refer to the Blackhawks as the "Black Hawks" (its 2013, not 1980), and says that Chicago "tanked for years on end for their franchise players." Hes trying to lay out a blueprint for similarities between the Rangers/Blackhawks. Just thought id share to see what other fans opinions are on "tanking."
I find the East a little more exciting

Alot of boring teams in West (Stl , Nas , etc) who can sometimes suck all the life out of hockey

Maybe its because im a Ranger fan then

The Caps are nothing like they used to be. The Bruins are a better Ranger team.

Only two teams id say are entertaining, and not surprisingly when they play eachother are Philly and Pittsburgh.

That's exactly it...Nashville may be a great team, but they're mind numbing to watch.

Im sure many of their fans are thinking the same as well.

Middle of the road is a tough position to be in... no mans land.

Steen and McDonald both had to leave St. Louis practice with injury. Wisniewski broke his foot for CBJ. Makes the next 2 games easier.

Speaking of St. Louis.... Their last game was 2/23. Their next game is Thursday, 2/28, vs us. Hopefully they show up very, very rusty.

I go out to shovel, come back in, and find out that Erik Cole got traded to Dallas for Micheal Ryder.

Active day on the trade market I see. Interesting move for both the Stars and Habs.

Especially now because of this:

Habs also get a third-round pick in the deal

Its a terrible trade

Ryder is playing well ,, Cole has looked brutal this year and has 4.5M cap hit for next 2 years

Not to mention the Stars gave away a pick as well

Ryder is a UFA, Cole still has a year left.

I wouldn't say Ryder is that much better than Cole. Sure, Cole is having a bad season so far, but last year they almost had identical stats but Cole provides a physical presence that Ryder doesn't. That's what DAL wanted.

I'm just happy that the Isles aren't wearing their horrid thirds this time around.

A lot of people were, yes. Can't really say how he would do here, with a team in front of him committed to defense. Hard to judge him over there, though he's not looking good.
