Usually big and tough D-men dont have good feet. Maybe that would work against that player on that big Belleville ice surface. 3 high picks in recent years Subban, Desousa and Petti all have very good feet. Mcfadden fits that bill. I think Belleville will once again want a above average skating player. Mcfadden has top 3 Dman feet in this draft.

Anyone who follows the SCTA would have to agree that Dman Calvin Walker is a top notch skater.

Defenseman:

Sean Day
Matt Spencer
Garrett Mcfadden
Colton White
Mitchell Vande Sompel
Josh Defarius
Kyle Capobianco

Later in the draft I like :
Zach Wilkie: excellent top speed, so-so puck handling, big shot, physical presence. 2nd-3rd
Christian Dedonato has very good under-rated puck moving skills, a steal I believe if he is available in the 4th round.

Forwards:

Travis Konecny
Blake Speers
Mitchell Stephens
Ethan Szypula
Matthew Kreis

Hat Trick for Dylan Strome tonight. His feet in my opinion are getting better and better, a non issue. His vision and hockey sense are filthy. In my opinion the smartest hockey player in the 2013 OHL draft. Marlboros lead series 2-0 against the Jr Canadiens. 4 points to 0.

Could Henley be a potential Bulls target if they do target a D-man? I think his two-way game would fit in well with the potential group for next year, although if I'm Burnett I'd be looking for a skilled forward in the 1st round again. Crouse would be a great fit but no way he falls far enough.

He be a great pick for them, but I dont think Henley is on the board at #18. Belleville picks second last in the first round if the season ended today. Henley I think is gone between #9 and #13. I think Oshawa if they have a chance will take him.

Hello. He may be better than his brother. Dylan doesn't have other 1st rd picks as wingers like Ryan had. I don't know enough about the American boys but otherwise he is the top pick in the draft.

Any team passing on Strome is making a mistake.

Sounds like the Petes better be putting on the full court press to ensure Strome will report.
Do the Otters take a winger to play with McDavid or a d-man? Does or can Konecny play the wing?
Ottawa - Day
Erie - Werenski (if NTDP, then Spencer)
Peterborough - Strome
Kingston - Konecny
Mississauga - Spencer (Stephens)
Niagara - Stephens (Crouse)
Sudbury - Korostelev

Just my uneducated guess, nothing more LOL

Very well could happen, I heard he's interested in Kingston as well.

Erie would be better off going off the board a bit and taking Crouse in my opinion. Winger for McDavid.

Ottawa- Day
Erie- Crouse/Spencer
Peterborough- Konency
Kingston- Strome

Niagara fan who doesn't follow the draft, wondering if there is any chance that Strome falls to where they are now, at pick #7?

I could see something like this happening

1.Ottawa - D/Sean day - obvious choice

2. Erie - D/ zach werenski - Erie needs a D man.

3. Peterbrough - F/ mitchell stephans. As much as I rather see konecny or strome they may go with the local kid who will report no doubt.

4. Kingston - F/ travis konecny - best forward in the draft. I would take him over strome.

5. Missasauga - D/ matt Spencer - best Ontario Defencemen. Missasauga will take him or strome.

6. Niagara - Dylan strome - defiantly will not drop any further. Would be great if Niagara could get Dylan with ryan likely gone next year.

7. Saginaw - F/ Lawson crouse - big winger with big potential. A solid safe pick at #7.

8. Sudbury - Nikita korostelev - sudbury needs a RW. Korostelev is easily a top 3 offensive talent in the draft.

9. Brampton - F/ Brett McKenzie. Hard working Center. Would be a good fit in brampton.

Rumour has it Stephens wants nothing to do with Peterborough.

I think it's a good thing for both parties.

No way Bushnell is 4-6 rd. Great energy and tenacity.
What has Ryan Strome done? No World Junior GOLD. NO OHL Championships, or Mem Cups. Only a leading scorer in the OHL. Cant even sniff a regular shift on a bottom feeder like the Islanders.

Last time I checked, Justin Azevedo won the OHL Scoring Race, and where is he.

Bushnell is a big tough kid, but very limited hockey skills. He will become a fighter and may play in the NHL.

Hopefully Tiger can confirm, but Special K got his OHL clearance yesterday and Petawabono is not OHL eligible.

Marner will defnitely go in the first round, and may be a top 10 pick.

Could Marner interest the bulls at 18? He is small but quick and has excellent skill.

I'm sorry, but this is just complete trash.

What has Ryan Strome done?
He's led his team to the semi-finals and final, has over 100 career goals, is well over a point per game player, and I believe scored at least a point in all but one or two career World Junior games.
No player from the 2009 PS has more points than Strome's 322 in 259 regular season and playoff games.
Championships in this sport are not won by a single player, but he's been a huge part of all of the teams he's played on and their success.
His potential as an NHL'er means very little to his OHL team, as they got an elite OHL player out of him regardless of what he does in the future.
The fact that he didn't make the Islanders is not surprising, as the NHL isn't a league for teenagers.
It should not be used to knock him.

This is worse than your argument that Day shouldn't go first overall because Ryan Murphy has never won anything either.

Agree 100%. If Dylan Strome is even half of the OHLer his brother was he will still be a very solid player.
