Nice, Gallagher with #11 is going to be awesome. I'm pretty sure he wanted #11, it was his number in junior and Gomez was on the team at the time the camp started.

Who knows, he might have been itching to change to #11 and didn't want to say anything to Marc.

Hopefully yes. The kid just got a full-time top 6 spot as a 20 year old 5'8 player who was drafted in the 5th round. The progression of his game had been incredible since draft day.

If you traded Gallagher to any team, he'd have 11 as his jersey.

I'm sure if you trade Galchenyuk, he would have 94, and the game disc would burn your XBOX because you just traded him.

I'm sure Gally will bring honour back to the once great number worn by the likes of Saku and Muller. It will help us forget about the dishonour that Gomes bestowed upon it lol

Luc Gelinas confirms Ryder didn't have to ask for the number, Gallagher gave it to him.

I agree with the previous posters that this was prolly a good time as any for Gallagher to get his real number (11) ... Its a number that suits him much better anyways.

I know it's "only" Michael Ryder, but it would look weird seeing him in any other number besides #73.

Gallagher is better off with #11 - he'll restore glory to the number that the last guy dragged through the dirt.

Good thing I didn't buy a Gally shirt yet

Ray Bourque changed numbers mid-season when his number 7 was restired. Also O'byrne did the same.

Ryder will keep 73 in Montreal, Gallagher switches to 11. Ryder says he'll do something for the kid...

Comes to Montreal, is given is old number by current player wearing it.

Instantly becomes an ass.

Bad Luck Ryder.

Gomez took a dump on #11 so Gallagher will need a lot of time and success to wash all the **** off.

All he needs to do is smile. Once he does, my heart melts and I ask, "Koivu, who?"
really hope I don't need the sarcasm face here...

Not on topic, but why do some fans dislike Ryder so much? Did he ask for a trade or what? I`m just asking for facts.
