I like all the scenarios where people are putting the flyers 8th and pens 1st or 7th and 2nd would be hilarious when the flyers knock them out in the first round again

If the Bruins and Habs end up meeting in the playoffs, it's likely to go to 7 games.

Dumb prediction. They would basically have to play .333 or worse hockey the rest of the season to not make the playoffs. Only Columbus is doing that poorly at .325.

People still don't have Ottawa in the playoffs?

I'm not supremely confident, but the way they are playing I think it's unlikely they completely fall apart. They have good goaltending, a great system and hard working players. They'll likely limp into the playoffs (especially with Spezza, Michalek, Anderson and Regin coming back).

I wouldn't be surprised if the Devils fall out of the playoffs. They are not playing well right now, their #1 is injured, and overall I don't see a lot to be excited about on their roster this year.

Except once they got Zubrus back the team is the same team, sans Parise that made it to the cup last year. Sure, they are going through a tough stretch, but they are still 5 points from 8th and 2 points with game in hand on Pittsburgh for top in Atlantic.

That was just more of a hot team making it far than anything IMO. I don't think many people even expected the Devils to make the playoffs last year. From what I've seen of them this year I don't see them as a contender. They are a bubble playoff team and while it wouldn't surprise me if they made the playoffs it also wouldn't surprise me if they missed them.

That's the key. I think the lack of a big body who can fight for the puck has really hurt the devils. Once Zubrus comes back I feel lle they will get back to their old ways. Good thing they have a 4 day break to settle things down.
And their roster has a lot of depth.

Ducks have to win just 15 of the next 31 games, or accumulate 28 points, to make the playoffs and you have them finishing at best 12th?

Okay Ducks fans, prepare yourself for an absolute breakdown. Our team apparently is going completely forget how to play hockey.

EDIT: http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/W...c/Anaheim.html

Also we have a 5 point lead in the Pacific division with 3 games in hand on Dallas. I really don't understand how you think the Ducks are going to do that badly.

Best explanation would be that he forget the Ducks for a second.

San Jose looks absolutely terrible. Ducks are taking that division unless the Kings go on a huge win streak.

If he's taken a glance at the league standing over the last two weeks it'd be a little hard to forget the team with the second most points in the league (especially when you consider how unlikely it is that it is indeed Anaheim), but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

As for the Division, to me it's cause for concern because Dallas AND Los Angeles are a strong threat and the March schedule for Anaheim is not an easy one at all. Inter-division match ups are gonna be crucial if we want to secure home ice and the division title.

Hmmm...we'd have to lose over half our games to miss out. Not winning the cup? I can see that. Missing the playoffs? Disagree.

You want to save your credibility while people might still give you the chance? Or do you honestly believe that the Blackhawks are going to go 7-21-1 from here on out? Blackhawks can go 9-17-3 and still make the playoffs.
