The Canucks probably won't do better without Kesler, Burrows is not a more effective (in what way?) centre than Kesler, and Kassian will only drag the Sedins down like he did at the beginning of the year, before Burrows got put back on their line.

Only my opinions of course.

I highly doubt Kassian was bringing the Sedins down I'd chalk it up to them not playing during the lockout and still needing to find their groove but we'll find out I guess

Putting the best face possible on it, if he wasn't back until the playoffs that'd open up some interesting cap possibilities. Keep him off LTIR so we're right at the limit at the deadline, then move him and Manny over to it and bring in a really big contract, and then get him back at playoff time.

Passed the point of caring. I don't bank on Kesler being in the line-up consistently.

I'm really starting to hate Kesler and his inability to stay healthy.

Broken foot is usually 6-8 weeks. Given his play the last few games, things start to make more sense.

Likely out 6 weeks.

My question is why the **** was he playing on a broken foot during the regular season.
That can further aggravate the area (around the fracture). Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Kesler is really stupid, I must say. Playoffs? I can understand hiding an injury. Game #17 of the regular season.

**** off Kesler.
You're hurting this team.

This season has been a complete and utter mess. If he broke it 3 games ago why did he play last night?

Ugh, don't remind me.
That was the most embarrassed I have been as as Canuck fan. The riots, the loss, Bertuzzi... nothing compared to allowing a guy with a broken back to skate off the ice, at the consent of professional trainers.

Seriously ****ed up.

Every team in the league has an embarrassing story of their own. Remember the Crosby situation in Pittsburgh? They had their own share of **** ups in handling that.

Perhaps Kesler was trying to mask the injury and it got too bad?

Maybe he wasn't forthcoming with the injury? Might have felt it was just a bruise or something until it kept bothering him...

This season has been a mess though. Forget PTs or any other standards, just get into the playoffs. Preferably while still leading the division.

Not understanding why so many are writing Kesler off as an expendable piece. A second line Selke winner that's capable of picking up points (granted: when healthy) is a rare commodity these days when teams are fighting for depth down the middle. His shoulder injury was unfortunate and it was great when he got back, but for those that are saying "of course he broke his foot" are pretty foolish. It could have happened to anyone that plays an aggressive defensive game and it truly is unfortunate and inopportune that he broke it so soon after returning to the line up. If you want to shelter Kesler and play him as an offensive center only, he would be without much use on this team as we already have an offensively minded first line center and we need a skilled center that can play a well rounded game on both ends of the ice. Basically, if you'd advocate Kesler not playing hard defensively, you're neutering his role as a second line two-way center. For those that advocate just moving Kesler because he gets injured are basically saying that we want a center that doesn't play quite as hard at both ends of the ice and I'd say that we have enough of those. I'd also like to see a center that can take whatever shot broke Keslers foot and walkaway unscathed. Do we shop Kesler for some sort of Wolverine center with metal bones and the ability to mend themselves in a day or do we accept the fact that Kesler's had a rough go in the past season or two, recognize he's a critical piece that can take the team on his back, play defensively, and not throw him under the bus when he gets injured playing in the same style that we were all cheering for when he nearly single handedly served us up Nashville on a plate a few years ago. You can't have your Kesler and vilify him too, Vancouver.
