Reading some Leafs fans, you'd think they are the best team since the 1976-1977 Montreal Canadiens.

They are doing just as well this year as they did last year with 20 games played, hopefully history repeats itself.

As much as we hate the Bruins, I don[t think anyone here would deny they have 'actual' toughness instead of a 'act'. This would involve actual core pieces (Lucic, Chara) with 'truculence'.
I hope you're not saying the Leafs don't have Truculance cause Orr plays on the 4th line. They can win games and bash you over the head at the same time.

Toronto is surprising people with their toughness, so it's hard to adjust to their new style. The good thing is that the Habs are getting bigger and over the next little bit Gionta, Boullion and possibly DD will be gone.

I just really hate recent bragging, it's so juvenile and short sighted. I hate it when Habs fans do it to Leafs fans too, have seen it many times. It's weird, it's like 90% of the people on HFBoards are goldfish and their memory resets every 5 seconds.

Anyway, Leafs have been playing well and tough, JVR and Kadri have added to their scoring mix, happy to see them doing well, honestly am. Just don't let the meathead fans get in the way of the good ones because there a lot of good ones too.

The only difference is they only have 28 more games to sink their boat. They might just stay afloat long enough to sneak in this shortened season.

I don't think these teams were meant to play each other this much and should only meet in cup finals every 40 years.

But I'd be happy if they got their own division at least. I'm sick of them.

Leafs are 19th in the league in minor penalties whereas Montreal is 4th.
Leafs have 13 roughing, Montreal has 19
Leafs have 13 interference, Montreal has 8
Leafs have 2 slashing, Montreal has 5
Leafs have 0 high sticking, Montreal has 6
Leafs have 2 cross checking, Montreal has 0
Leafs have 2 goaltender interference, Montreal has 8

http://espn.go.com/nhl/statistics/te...ajor-penalties

Leafs have 8 boarding, Montreal has 3
Both have 1 game misconduct
Leafs have 22 fighting majors, Montreal has 12

I'm pretty sure the Leafs are top 3 in hits in the league as well... I don't know if you want to bite into that one either

Bah, the Leafs can get quite creative when it comes to sinking their own ship, I wouldn't bet on it.

If Ryder plays with Gally and Eller that line is going to destroy Toronto tonight.

They must think it's an easy win for them tonight since they destroyed us last time.

They should be reminded we are in front of them with 1 game in hand. Could be a 7 points difference if we win this one and the game we have in hand.

Going to be a tough game but i think the players are pissed off and are going to play well.

They do, just adding to the opinion that it's more of an act seeing how the truculence are coming from dime a dozen type players. We could literally claimed 2-3 similar type players off waivers and suddenly also be as 'truculent'.

Looking forward to seeing Ryder back in a Habs jersey again. Whether he plays with Patches and DD or Chuckie and Eller he's a nice scoring addition. Hope he still has his Leafs-killer touch.

Habs need to win this one because we have a tough weekend ahead. I don't want to see the team go into any kind of long winless streak.

I think Ryder scores otherwise I'm not going to offer any predictions. Just hope the boys play well and win.

I think the only way the Habs sign or trade for a "truculent" player is if he actually knows how to play hockey i.e.: Brandon Prust and that is fine by me.

Texted a good friend of mine (Leafs fan) about an hour ago for some friendly discussion about the game. Despite my attempts to talk about hockey, he won't budge off the subjects of wondering who is going to fight who, wondering if all three of their goons will be in the lineup, and something about Colton Orr kicking Michael Ryder's ass?

I can't say I expected anything less.
