I doubt that San Jose would go for it but how about Seto for Dan Boyle?

bring in another veteran Dman

I think that we should try to pry Weber out of Montreal, low risk high reward IMO.

Would likely come cheap.

Please explain WHY Snow is selling low, on a 24 yr old, making a prorated $2m?

Think Snow and Cappy aren't aware Okposo's a slow starter?

I made the same argument to NYI fans, who wanted Grabner dealt during this past offseason: so long as a core player is on a dirt cheap contract, Snow will show a lot of patience.

Dan Boyle's cap hit is near $7m. That alone makes it a non-starter. He's also old, and Seto is the only guy who hits anything in our top six. Plus Boyle is a -7 while seto is even +/- this year. No thanks.

Hell no to Dan Boyle.

San Jose loves him anyways.

Boyle would be perfect on this team. But as previously stated, it's really a non-talker given his contract.

How could the Wild even entertain letting Seto go for anything at this point? I understand why it was talked about at the start of the year but i think Heatleys performance or lack thereof changes the ability to move Seto.

IMO it would be a disastrous move to deal Seto.

Yeah I have no idea why people are STILL wanting to move Seto. We're the lowest scoring team in the league right now and you people want to trade away the ONLY capable right-handed forward we have? Really? Coyle is still unproven at this point.

I wonder if the Ducks will deal Ryan or Perry for cap reasons etc. or if it becomes obvious Perry won't resign. I think Getzlaf will resign there for sure but I could see them possibly moving one of either Ryan or Perry in order to keep the other. Wishful thinking that the Wild would get one of them though. Anaheim's price would be very very high and GMCF is shrewd at best. Won't give up the necessary assets and probably shouldn't. Just want a damn sniper on this team for once! A 40 goal scorer would be nice again. Haven't had one since Gabby

I think at the end of the day, Perry and Getzlaf re-sign.

Think Perry walks, Getzlaf stays. Can picture Perry going to play on Crosby's wing. If not them, Vancouver and Philly seem like teams he'd play for.

Ducks would probably be up against the cap then. Might have to trade Ryan to make room

There are better ways to get below a cap instead of unloading your best players.

There is no such thing. There is only a failure to support your elite talents with quality prospects and economical role players.

If you have star players, you sign them until they are no longer stars. There are always guys to play below the starters.

Hearsay says McKenzie says that Perry isn't re-signing. Ok, maybe it's worth looking into.

You mean a player like Parise?

Zach Parise has scored 40 goals before. Zach Parise is not a 40 goal scorer.

If they trade him it will only be because he is dead set on testing the market. You would have to give up a ton just to lose him in the off season.

Bad idea imo.

Perry has only done it once before also. So he is also not a 40 goal scorer then.

I understand that. Someone said they wanted a 40 goal scorer like Perry when in fact we already have a goal scorer comparable to him in Parise.

Heatley would either go the other way or be bought out this summer.

Heatley 7.5 million + Bouchard 4.1 million + Cullen 3.5 million + Backstrom 6.0 million + Harding 1.9 million = 17 million will all be off the books this summer. (Harding and Heatley by buyout). While Backstrom may be re-signed for something like 4 million/year, that's still 13 million for Perry plus 3 kids.

And when those kids need to be re-signed, Setoguchi, Brodziak, and Mitchell will be re-established (and therefore NOT being replaced by a kid) or they will be pushed out as well.
