Thanks for the advice. Quick research reveals that anemia is possible, my diet ain't the best so maybe that's my problem. If it happens again I'll certainly ask my doctor about it.

Worst snowstorm EVER. I hate this wet, super heavy snow because it's -1 instead of -20.

You weren't in Ottawa in '97, were you?

Yes, I arrived in Ottawa 3 years before that. But back then (90s) I didn't have a driveway to shovel so that wasn't my problem.

Ahhh yes, the Icestorm!

I had to stay at my nana's the entire week because my house in Stittsville lost power for that long. Even though I was young, I still remember the trees having ice layers around them and some that had fallen down.

EDIT: I believe I'm thinking of something else, right? I always thought the ice storm was in 1998. So my bad. Disregard.

The brothers Tugger...

Kemptville stomped 8-1 by Cornwall last night. Goalie Jacob came in relief after five goals on Billy Cooper about eight minutes into the 2nd. Matt looked a lot better than when I saw him earlier in the year (he is just 16 or 17 IIRC). This is not a good team.

During the ice storm my house was one of the few that never lost power. Lots of people stayed over lol.

i think you are thinking of the same storm, it was late december 1997/early january 1998. (disclaimer: i was born in november of 98 so i have no recollection of the storm.

My house lost power for 2 weeks during that ice storm. Had to live with family friends during that time. I think some of my earliest memories are from that storm (born in August, 1994).

I was in my first year of high school during the ice storm. Sledding was awesome, the hill was covered in ice.

Normal winter:
Start:*\__*end

Ice Storm:
Start:*\____________________*end

^ that is the hill. We would slide 2 soccer fields after hitting the bottom of the hill. Only took like an hour to try to make it back up again.

A friend of mine just hung out in the Coliseum and watched movies for the entire ice storm. One of the only places in his area that still had power.

That's a smart idea. My family had to move to a cheap hotel for about two weeks. No power + well frozen + middle of BFE = bad times and no help from the city.
