Jericho speaks on WWE transition from McMahon to Triple H
During WWE CEO Vince McMahon's current TV return, McMahon looks more like a grandfatherly, elder statesman figure, especially in comparison to a decade ago. This is also reflected behind-the-scenes, where Triple H is handling more corporate duties, according to WWE part-time star Chris Jericho.
Jericho noted in an interview on the MLW.com podcast that Hunter negotiated Jericho's deal to return to WWE for his current run that began at the Royal Rumble.
"I didn't talk with Vince at all and I'd always talked to Vince about any deal I ever had," Jericho said. "Triple H is pretty much the boss, although Vince is always going to be the boss. But, Triple H is in charge of more and more and more and developmental is a big part of that."
Jericho predicted that McMahon will eventually slide into a "consultant" role.
I think it was former creative writer, forget the real name, he played Big Dick Johnson on screen. He said Triple H isn't about that anymore and is all about business. It's the reason HHH put Lesnar over when Vince wanted HHH to go over. It's also the reason I believe Lesnar is gonna go over at Wrestlemania. HHH ain't stupid. You don't re-sign Lesnar two years, build up this huge aura around him and have him lose.
No one has an aura like Lesnar does. It's the Austin effect nowadays. Back then, when Austin's music hit, you knew **** was gonna go down. Now, when Lesnar's music hits, its that reaction. You know something is about to go down.
I wish Lesnar would be a full-time wrestler but I guess he is above that now. Getting paid more than most of the roster while working a fraction of the shows.
Sometimes, I can't believe that Triple H, a guy that loss in 2 minutes to Ultimate Warrior and feuded with guys like Henry O. Godwinn and Duke Droese, was able to woo the boss' daughter and will soon run WWE. I would think most wrestlers wouldn't go near Stephanie McMahon out of fear of losing their job.
