Secondly, Evander Kane in my opinion is better than every winger on this team.

if we had him and hall on our first line that would devastating to other teams.

Rumors:

- Volpatti is garnering interest among Edmonton media, does Oiler management feel the same?

- Lowe + MacT + 1 other scout seen at Philly/Washington game, wonder who they are there to see.

I figured that Pronger was going to sit on LTIR for the rest of his contract. Did they change the rules so that isn't allowed anymore?

I'm telling u guys... If Couts is involved Petry will be one of the pieces going the other way. They just said on TSN in the last couple days that the Flyers have been searching for a RHD with mobility ever since their series with the Devils in last yrs playoffs who exposed them on the right side. The panel said that was one of the reasons they acquired L. Schenn. The issue though persists for Phi even with Luke.

Not sure what else would be going with Petry.... Petry + MPS/Harti would be ideal. Assuming though that our 1st or Klefbom would be the piece Holmgren would want with Petry

Hemsky to Chicago for Stalberg.

But Chicago would never do it.

I wouldn't do it. Stalberg has never impressed me much. He's big and has great speed, but isn't overly physical has limited offensive ability (in my mind) and is a UFA at years end.

He's a 27 year old Magnus Paajarvi.

The only way I see the team moving Petry is if they expect to replace him with Seth Jones, to be honest.

Would have to add on our side.

I do think any trade would involve petry and paajarvi. Rh d man and a cheap winger. Just a case of what we get back.

Well, it's certaintly interesting that we'd have a few members of our management in Philadelphia scouting the Flyers. I mean we aren't playing them this year so it's not like we're scouting for habits/system. I'm going to play it safe and say nothing will happen because

a) They will not give up Couturier unless we're giving up something pretty big
b) They need D, yet have no cap space; Whitney only fits the bill if we are getting Danny Briere back.. which makes no sense. Why would they be scouting the Flyers players anyways if it was for Whitney? We're only likely to get a pick or a minor prospect.

Kind of a weird situation.

I guess Couturier is the only reasonable player we'd be scouting if a trade were to happen between us.

Couturier has not been playing great this year, No way it would take a 1st Klefbom + to aquire him . Let some other team over pay.

Done deal.....HOWEVER no way Philly does that.

Holmgren has constructed top two lines with power forward on both lines locked up long term in Hartnell and Simmomds that's set in stone.

I still feel that the flyers are obviously in cap hell now, and will be in the future when Couturier contact is up, makes him ideal to move now.

Holmgren is pretty creative. Maybe he is after our 1st rder hoping its a high pick increasing his odds for what he really wants - Seth Jones (replacing Pronger). And if he misses out, he might be thinking 2 potential top 10 picks might facilitate a trade for 1st overall.

With Holmgren you never really know what he has up his sleeve. He is good at getting what he wants though....

I donno about that. As long as they have Giroux and Schenn ahead of Couturier on the depth chart it is unlikely that he puts up big offensive numbers. His next contract could be very manageable.

Couturier worst plus minus for forwards on Flyers 42% face off on pace for 30 pts 82 games never hits slow skater, The only thing he has is size, grit is not one of his quality's. The love affair for him is funny in here . watch some Flyer games people .

there is no trade that weakens our defence as we are paper thin. We have a top 4 with value and the rest is pretty much waiver fodder. We can't afford to trade a top 4 dman and the Flyers and Caps would have little interest in the rest.

Both Philly and the Caps are thin at defence but could use a face off guy like Belanger. With Horcoff back in less than 2 weeks, he may be available. VV and Lander have been acceptable 4th line guys.

IMO, the deal might be Belanger for a depth forward with size.

Post a stat line of RNH's numbers this season while you're at it.

If you watched the Flyers in the playoffs you would know he's a dominant checking center much like Jordan Staal. He's also a sophomore so why would his numbers be really good? He shut down Malkin for 6 games in the playoffs last year. That is pretty amazing.

The same can be said for anyone of our kids......

The "kid" is barely 20yrs old and was in the same draft class as RNH.

Kids take time to develope!!! Patience people patience

PS. I watch flyers games how can you not there on almost every weekend NBC game of the week

-1
On pace for 32 points in 81 games
Small, weak on the puck, doesn't hit
42% faceoff

That's Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

These guys are 19/20 year olds in their second season. You can't put too much stock into it. There is a reason that Couturier went 8th overall in the draft. This guy has buckets of talent and tonnes of potential.

RNH
Couturier

As your one two punch would be stellar. Both of them are going to be great two-way players.

@tpanotchCSN: dont see Gustafsson and he has missed several shifts w/L Schenn taking his spot

@tpanotchCSN: last thing Flyers can afford is to lose a young, mobile defenseman like Gustafsson to an injury

@tpanotchCSN: Gustafsson blocked a shot by Fehr at 7:00 in 2nd period and hasnt been back since. That is BAAD news

Exactly great description Jordan Staal clone.

If big "if" he is available sure hope we beat the flames to him, when Feaster finally realizes they need to blow it up.

JayBo for Couturier would suite both teams just fine.....hopefully we get something done
