Ok I am not going back to read all the posts so I will just ask. Did he get injured again in thr KHL and thst is why he is wearing the cage or is it due to the old injury?
I dunno. MT seems resolute in keeping his boy Franky B there for whatever reason. Emelin showed off a killer one timer last night, I want to see that on our PP!
I agree. Plus, Emelin was a playmaker on the PP back on the AK Bars squad.
Most impressive part of Emelin's hitting quantity is the he's in complete control as shown by his 0 minors this season and few minors last season. I can only imagine how entertaining his play would be if he goes all out reckless.
I don't find being dirty entertaining, but it seems to be a minotity who think so.
His hard clean hits are very entertaining as it is, to me.

He got elbowed in the face in the KHL during the lockout, and getting hit by a puck in training camp probably didn't help. I've heard Stubbs and Godin say he will wear it for a few weeks.
Looking at how he hit, how he skate and how he play offensively he has a similar style than Vladimir Konstantinov ! Hey, I'm not saying he is as good as him, but one can dream

Ah ok I hadn't heard anything but figured he must have re aggravated it playing in the K
This man has got to play on the LEFT side. It looks as though his big hitting ability disappears when he's slotted on the right.
I would hope the coaching staff would eventually try
Markov - Gorges
Emelin - Subban
Bouillon - Diaz

While you are both right, I think it has more to do with the quality of the competition being faced. He's been paired up against the best this season and he simply isn't the same caliber of D-man as Gorges, Subban or Markov.
Emelin should play on his natural left side, except ultimately I truly believe if this team is to have any success it needs to re-unite Gorges-Subban. Perhaps the pairing you posted would work, but I still think Subban is the Habs best ES/PK defender and needs to face the toughest assignments.
He'd look a lot better if Gorges/Subban were together facing other top lines instead of him and Markov. He's being forced to play tough minutes when he shouldn't right now, hopefully Therrien figures his **** out soon and puts Gorges and Subban together.

Agreed, Markov and Emelin make a great second pairing, but they've been outmatched since Markov started tiring.
So is Emelin a long-term top 4 for this organisation or does he get pushed down when the youngsters ( Beaulieu, Tinordi et al ) become staples?
Please stop.
It is tiring that we need to constantly turn from one player to the next in an effort to bash them or pit them against another. And now Emelin is pitted against DMen in the AHL.
