I think Philly stands a good chance at turning their season around. I really like their forwards, defence could maybe use some work, and of course Bryzgalov has to be good. In my own opinion I think a lot of their problems may stem from coaching. I had Laviolette as a coach pre-Jets days in Carolina, and he has a shelf life. His defensive system is also brutal. I'm not surprised at all to see a Laviolette team doing so **** poor defensively, goals against, etc.
Honestly, a guy like Lindy Ruff may do wonders for a team like Philly.
Thats a result of the players (in this case Bozak) thinking the linesmen will wait and wait and wait to drop the puck, as they have been doing often this season (IMHO grandstanding beyond their jobs)....but this time they don't and costs a goal.
NHL needs to deal with the linesmen and the puck drops; its going to cost teams even more as the season goes.
I didn't check out the Leaf GDT during the game but wow...
Some of them actually think the refs cost them that game. The team was pathetic and the only reason it wasn't a blowout was because of their goaltending... but apparently that is the other reason they lost.
1/2 way through the game they had 5 shots on net.
Embarrassing. Just play the game the way it's meant to be played, Ovi. This is why the Caps suck, because they're led by players like Ovechkin. Very little heart, passion, drive and work ethic. Completely gave up there and took easy, lazy way of embellishment. The "old, elite" Ovechkin would have dropped his right shoulder and plowed towards that lose puck, or pulled back to go behind the Philly player thus putting him in position to make an attack for that puck. Ovi is nothing more than a shell of his former self right now.
