I'd like Stempniak back with St. Louis. I'll give you Matt D'Agostini.

Radek Martinek
Brian Boucher (was traded for moreso for the AHL but currently up because of Leighton's injury)

You could even consider AHL'ers returning to former organizations:

Not a move I would be interested in at all. The only way the Flames (or any team IMO) takes D'Agostini is as a contract/salary dump.

If I were to move Stempniak I would be looking for a 2nd+, maybe the 2nd the Blues picked up from Ottawa and the 4th that was picked up from Tampa with D'Agostini as a salary/contract dump?

Stoll, Torres, Greene, Glencross. Funny thing is that these guys would fill so many needs for the Oilers. Secondary scoring, size, toughness, grit, faceoff, help on D

I think the deal that sent Greene & Stoll to LA was one of the worst trades that Lowe made and IMO gets overlooked when talking about his plethora of bonehead moves.

At the time, it wasn't a bad move because Stoll had become the whipping boy here but it sucked losing Greene. To top it off, Lubo was the best player in the deal at the time and put up 40+, 50+ and even 60+ points prior to that. Looking back at it now though...fully agree with you haha.

I've just never been a fan of Visnovsky, I always thought he was no more than a PP player that was soft and poor defensively. On the other hand I have always thought Stoll is the type of player a team needs to win championships. To be honest I never thought much of Greene at the time, but he has really come into his own as a King and it makes the deal that much worse for the Oilers.

Quite frankly I think the Flames not getting Stoll under contract before he re-entered the 2002 draft was one of the biggest mistakes they made under Craig Button.

It makes sense. If a guy has played on your team, performed acceptably, and didn't cause any problems, why would a team re acquire an old player to fill a need. Especially if the player knows the system and fits in seamlessly.

I kinda hope at the end of his career Jeff Carter gets put on waivers and gets picked up by Columbus just to see his reaction.

Ehrhoff for Couture, Hertl, Nieto, and 1st rounder...but ya gotta keep half of Couture's cap hit.

(in case that wasn't obvious)
