I think people clowning Sutter are getting it all wrong. From what all the Kings' fans I've talked to have said, it wasn't an issue of Simon's abilities or his fitness, but that he didn't play the style of game Sutter was looking for. So, LA did the classy thing and sent him to a great destination where he was going to get a much better chance to contribute offensively.

No reason to trash Sutter or LA, just be thankful that we got Gagne back for a song; because the skill is quite clearly still there. I see him playing a big role for us this year. And hopefully next year too.

Ya, the Kings play a really grimy style. And as we know, Gagne isn't that kinda player.

Now I ask how does carter fit that

This is correct. Gagne was afraid of the boards (quite understandable), and didn't play a good two-way game. It was either Penner or Gagne, and the Kings love players with size that play a more grinding style, and unfortunately that is not Gagne. He is a great fit for Philly though.

He's been one of our best two-way forwards since we got him. He uses his speed well and has a long reach with his stick for deflections and takeaways. He is willing to work hard along the boards and use his size, not for hitting but for possession. He gets put out there with Richards on the PK often as well. He's been pretty compatible with Sutter's system.

Carter has been money for the Kings. The Kings would be a lottery team without him atm.

And Scott Howson was money for both our teams. I hope he lands somewhere stacked with #1 D talent.

I heard he was right now in talks with St. Louis, but I am pretty sure a concession stand worker can't make any trades on behalf of the team.

Anyone else see the immediate improvement of 2nd PP with Gagne on it?

Briere-Schenn-Gagne
Gustafsson-Couturier

Looked pretty good to me.

He is a fit..more so than with LA but remains to be seen if it will be great after the nostagia for him and the fans wears off a bit. Good start though. He still seems to have his wheels but I suspected he was not a Sutter favorite for not wanting to do board work or being hesitant to do so. He wasnt always like that but the head injuries and other injuries when he was here made him become like that and it lead to less goal production. Put him on the right line and his perimeter play wont be as much of a big deal as long as he breaks out fast and gets in the holes. His d has always been good so surprised it wasnt in LA...although he was mostly injured last year and benched this year...

I almost feel like I never left. Just walking in the building before the game, knowing everyone, everybody is still here. And a nice welcome I got in the warm-up and after the first five minutes in the period, stuff like that. It's almost like coming back home.

Looked very good. The return of Hartnell and moving him back up to the top unit really helps out the powerplay too. Schenn should've had a couple goals in the 3rd period.

Did anyone else realize that Gags was 10th in points in franchise history? i knew he was up there but i hadn't realized he was 10th until a couple months ago when i was looking up Lindros' number w/ the Flyers (which are sick by the way).

He now has 525 pts in a flyers uniform. sitting in at 9th is Rod w/ 601. If he stays healthy i really hope he finishes out his career in philly and maybe moves up a spot or two in the process.

Was wondering who's jersey I should buy (have 2 unnamed ones); if he gets extended next year I know what I'll get.
