Ha, Flyers fans will never admit they were wrong about Carter. Most hated him and they'll never see him as anything other than a bum. Carter could win 10 Stanley Cups and still a lot of Flyers fans wouldn't change their mind.

He might come back down to Earth at some point but he's doing great right now so I'm happy for him.

Anybody remember when Jack Johnson was touted as some sort of human wrecking ball who would leave a pile of bodies in his wake? Whoever put together Jack Johnson's YouTube highlights from Michigan is owed a lot of money. Jack Johnson, the Kimbo Slice of the NHL.

Also, we haven't had a 1+ points per game player since Ziggy was in his prime. Unless you count Demitra's only year here, which was a small sample size with only 58 games. Kopi came close in 2009-10 with 81 in 82.

As maligned as Kopitar has been this season around here, he could easily put up a point per game+ this year. He has 15 points in 16 games so far.

I don't want to be that guy right now, but this is sort of what Carter does. He goes on streaks where he looks like the best natural goal scorer in the league followed by slumps. This is what he's done his entire career. Right now, he's certainly on his game and thank god for that. However, I wouldn't be surprised if in a month we're posting in threads titled "what happened to Jeff Carter?"

Luckily we're a different fanbase than Philadelphia and we can see his play away from the puck and realize that even when he's not scoring he's still a valuable defensive player. But let's not get too ahead of ourselves here.

I think it's more amazing that Jeff "Bad Attitude Alcoholic" Carter came into camp in terrific shape than his current goal output.

I don't know. I want to believe this is a different Carter. Was there really any point since he came over to the Kings where he hasn't been on top of his game? The only time I can think is the first two rounds of the playoffs last year and he was hurt then.

Plus that last sentence gives me hope too. He came into camp in terrific shape, he's working his butt off. I just think he's a lot more mature now. I could be wrong but I'm hoping this output or close to it will be sustained through the season.

He has always been streaky. Thing is in Philly he was a on their top line. With us he is a second line guy. Isn't it nice to have depth?

His last full season with Philly was much more balanced. He's playing better than I've ever seen him play.

Remind me again why Carter was traded? Were he and Richards simply lumped into the same category throughout the rumored locker room split and thus both had to go? The more I look back on those trades the more it makes absolutely no sense for Holmgren to trade them.

Cause Ed Snider is senile.

The trading of all these young guys right before their prime will continue to baffle me. Richards and Carter were blamed because the media didn't like them and made people believe they weren't good hockey players. Snider was embarrassed by being swept by the Bruins and overreacted by signing the best goalie in a bad market. They needed cap space so they got rid of the so called bad apples.

Pronger as captain barely made it through a couple of months, Bryz turned out to be subpar, new crop of young guys to repeat the same cycle Richards, Carter, etc. did.

Oh and Carter and Richards win a cup with the Kings.

88-89 Bernie Nicholls had 70 goals. Most as a King Forward and a Center.

Yeah it was a locker room split that ended the Richards/Carter days in Philly. Pronger is such a ***** and probably didn't like the fact his influence on the team was greatly diminished.

Essentially we gave up Jack Johnson, Simmonds, Schenn, 1st round pick, 2nd round pick for Jeff Carter and Mike Richards. Make no mistake we gave up A LOT for these two players but they are proven commodities and yet to be in their prime.

I wonder how badly Philly wants to welcome back Carter?

But they got Pronger and the bestest goalie of all time out of it!!! Oh wait....

Why would Flyers fans admit anything ? He scored 46 goals for them one season and most still didnt like him. Carter was held responsible for not winning the stanley cup because he didnt shoot high in game 6 whatever.

They are not going 'to admit' anything because Carter scores 25-30 goals for another team in a shortened season.

Something happened over there and we shouldnt care about that. Waste of time.

Why not? It got us a damn cup didn't it? I hope Pronger comes back, and the same thing happens with Giroux and Simmonds.
