I know there's some Japanroids fans here. Thought this was cool. They beat out Nickelback and Guns and Roses.

I saw the competition and was ecstatic they were even in it. Awesome that they won, did not think they would.

Brutal.

This is not a pump up song.

This is a nancy boys anthem music.

Not a fan either way, but it is surprising considering how pedestrian DJ Dave always seems about these sorts of things.

I thought the U2 worked really well with the introduction Canucks have, unlike this song.

That's a shame, Luongo loves listening to it as often as possible whenever he's at the UC.

Wasn't it just supposed to replace U2 sometimes?

And dammit, nobody voted for Rammstein. This generation has no taste in music.

It's an ok song, screams "hipster" to me.

It's not a unique sound at all, it feels like they are a mash-up of other bands. Remember when people tried to be unique with music? I mean hey, sample all you want, just do something creative, but yeah...it's not a song I want to hear ever again besides my first listen to it from this thread.

^It took all of 20 seconds for the song to be ruined for me once I heard the "oh-oh-oh-ohs". Too many songs with a stupid "oh-oh-oh-oh" hook in it, especially in indie music. Indie 'rock' is mediocre at best.

Not saying Nickelback should have been voted for, either. And I'm a big GNR fan, but Welcome To The Jungle is incredibly overdone at this point. So I wouldn't have voted for any of those songs.

I wish they would stop calling it "Indie Rock" because there is nothing "Indie" about it anymore.

Still don't 'get' it.

And I loved it when the Canucks came out to Where the Streets Have No Name. Such an amazing build-up.

I did too, and I don't even like U2.

Apparently some of the more frat-boy macho Canuck fans complained that it was too emotionally nerve-racking and soft as opposed to andrenaline-pumping/exciting or something, and DJ Dave ate it right up.

Based on the songs I've had heard from them, their music is loud and aggressive. Not much of a leap to macho.

Yup. I loved it as well. The air raid sirens just made it that much better. Used to get goosebumps to that, now it's just meh....

I like them, but I prefer more evocative songs to open a game, something like U2 mentioned in this thread...

Hate the Leafs opener so much, can't remember what the song is called...

It isn't really their new entrance song though.

What happens now?

Good question. Well, for starters, the Japandroids’ tune will be added to a rotating list of songs that will be played throughout the season. U2’s Where the Streets Have No Name will also be heard again, as will some new tunes, all in the hopes of discovering the ultimate song to get the Canucks going at the ultimate moment.

As always, we’d love to hear from you if you have a suggestion about what music should be used as the Canucks intro song.
