I actually think that would be a very good fit.

I highly doubt Marner is top 20 on any teams list. I personally think he is a 3rd round player. Size is an issue, at 5-7 130. He is a liability in his own zone, disengaged. In the Offensize zone he circles and floats, leaving him out of position on counter attacks. Far from complete, to say nothing of being one of the smaller players in the draft. His vision is very good. Colton White, Vande Sompel, Kyle Capobianco is more likely.

I bet if he doesn't atleast go in the 2nd round he will look to go NCAA.

Should be an interesting SCTA weekend.

Looking forward to the Oakville STA game should decide 1st and 2nd. Can Niagara North play spoiler? they have the goalie.... but very unlikely.

1- Oakville
2- STA

Brampton, Grey Bruce, Halton will battle it out, Hamilton can score in bunches. Halton and Hamilton don't play one another, Brampton and Grey Bruce don't play one another.

1- Brampton
2- Grey Bruce

Will make for an entertaining Sunday!

What has Ryan Strome done?
He's led his team to the semi-finals and final, has over 100 career goals, is well over a point per game player, and I believe scored at least a point in all but one or two career World Junior games.
No player from the 2009 PS has more points than Strome's 322 in 259 regular season and playoff games.
Championships in this sport are not won by a single player, but he's been a huge part of all of the teams he's played on and their success.
His potential as an NHL'er means very little to his OHL team, as they got an elite OHL player out of him regardless of what he does in the future.
The fact that he didn't make the Islanders is not surprising, as the NHL isn't a league for teenagers.
It should not be used to knock him.

This is worse than your argument that Day shouldn't go first overall because Ryan Murphy has never won anything either.
Hear! hear!

I agree. I think there might be a few teams that would select him in the late 2nd round, its possible.

Last time I checked, Justin Azevedo won the OHL Scoring Race, and where is he.

Bushnell is a big tough kid, but very limited hockey skills. He will become a fighter and may play in the NHL.

Ryan Strome has done nothing and Mitch Marner will be a 1st round pick.

Its possible Marner is an interesting talent, however have to agree with your earlier assessment solid 3rd round player. Have a hard time seeing a team use a 2nd pick for someone that most likely isnít physically ready to play next year.

Most people think that. There is just one poster here who likes to remind us every week or two that he is rising on the OHL draft charts. Although no one else thinks that.

Parents, Family, friends have different views compared to others.

When u hate on every Marlboro player past and present and the player u constantly rave about was cut from that team a few years ago, it makes u wonder.

Don't think he was ever cut. Kid has talent, 1st rd???? Not a chance. Does make for some good entertainment though. Does hate some Marlies it seems.

No surprise self promoting agendas supporting their favourite talents exist, lets hope it works out for them.

To view someone's accomplishments as glass half empty is one thing but to belittle someone's accomplishments is totally off side!

A team with more then 1 second might be willing to take that risk.

To be honest with u, Id rather have a physically mature player with less skill who plays a energy role. Id rather have Mitchell Webb, Bushnell, Baird, Knott etc.

Who do u think the Petes will pick? They have a narrower draft pool to choose from with alot of kids not wanting to play there. Its tough to guage that pick. Im not sure they grab a consensus top 10 pick, they may look deeper. I think Korostelev may report there.

To be fair, OHL Central has him as a mid second. They are not parents or family.

He will be a second round pick, hes rated AA.

Or maybe he just does not like a player? Nothing wrong with that. We all have opinions, some are educated, some not. I have a bigger issue with calling 15 year olds kids things anonymously, which some have done in this thread and other threads...

For me, the biggest offside is the attacks on 15 year olds that we see some times. Not talking about you, but there have been others on this thread who have called players idiots and such, which is a much bigger issue. Sadly, no one did anything.

Ive said the same things based on what I see. I was not questioning the AA status he has, but mentioning him in the TOP 10, we both know is far off. He may slip to the third round. OHL central has Defarius in the top 15 and I dont think thats completely accurate at this point. Spencer Watson should have been top 10 OHL central last year and was not. Im not always right obviously, but niether is that list.

This is off topic but here are the Top 10 scoring leaders in the OHL and where they were drafted. Interesting that 2 of the top 5 scoring leaders were drafted 251 & 272 .

1. Nick Cousins SSM 2009 (2nd Rnd, 21st)
2. Charles Sarult KNG 2008 (2nd Rnd, 35th)
3. Vincent Trocheck SAG 2009 (2nd Rnd, 24th)
4. Eric Locke WSR 2009 (13th Rnd, 251st)
5. Reid Boucher SAR 2009 (14th Rnd, 272nd)
6. Ryan Strome BAR 2009 (1st Rnd, 8th)
7. Seth Griffith LDN 2009 (4th Rnd, 65th)
8. Garrett Ross ****Undrafted****
9. Kerby Rychel BAR 2010 (1st Rnd, 21st)
10. Boone Jenner OSH 2009 (1st Rnd, 4th)

You have the opinion that he is a third round player, that's fine. But you suggested that no one outside of a poster thought he was a top 40 player (hence your quote 'Although no one else thinks that'). I was offering evidence to the contrary.

Boucher was AA rated, but headed to the US, much like Connor Murphy. Eric Locke is a great success story, that year in Midget was big for him.

Tigers, The "although no one else thinks that" was a reference to a poster saying he will go in the TOP 10 and rising up depth charts from the top 15 .

Unfortunately Tiger ďoffsideĒ is too mild of a word to describe someone using school yard name calling tactics against a 15 year old on an anonymous forum. Letís just say I canít publish the word I would use.
