Personally not a fan of having rules and changing them for certain situations kinda defeats the point. That being said couldn't care less who has and doesn't have hossa. What I'm also not a fan of and sorry Santillo this fall's on you but lobbying for an extra "depth" move trade added and have the commissioner change the trade rules to 3 trades with the intention that more depth moves be made and bam you make a third trade straight away and none were near depth moves. Also 2 5 player trades and Spezza must have been a franchise player just seems like our trade rules are no longer valid.
While there have been some blockbuster moves involving big name players you also have to take this into account. The only trade that involved a franchise player was the Spezza one and maybe the Rinne one but Santillo had no interest in keeping Rinne so he didn't want to keep him as a franchise player. It could also be said that my Getzlaf trade involved a franchise guy but Anaheim has Perry and Parise so they could be his franchise players so again it's up to the GM's preference. I'm not a big fan of what's going on now, but im not insanely opposed to it, i'd say I have mixed feelings when it comes to what is going on now.
Big trades happen, and I expect quite a few of these are happening because there are a number of new GMs in the league that have inherited teams built for someone elses play style. I'm no exception, I got a team that had a ton of speed but no toughness or goaltending, which just isn't a way I can play and be successful.
I figure the trades will start to die down now that most new GMs have made a mark on their team, though as I said before I don't care what the trade rules are as long as their the same for everyone.
1. This is the trade lineup thread, not the discussion thread.
2. PM your opponents. Do not clutter up these threads with your availability.
I was in a hurry today.sorry it was in the "wrong" thread" you know i am new to this so maybe just a personal msg saying to use a different thread would have been nice...i din't have time to pm 6 ppl individualy so i posted it here i had to work 11 hours and wouldn't be home.at least i made an effort...and so i am not wasting this thread with my jibberish i will post my lineup..lol
Alight, I have done a lot of thinking about one of the recent trades made, so I have come to a final decision.
The trade between Calgary and Nashville will be voided and reversed for the sake of the league. That trade goes over the limit of maximum roster players, gives Nasvhille a third trade which goes over the maximum number of trades I had planned on outlying, and appears to be a gross overpayment on Calgary's part. Added with the recent discussion and issues with trust in the league's rules, I have no choice but to reverse it. I apologize for the issue Santillo and G3P3TTO but my hands are tied.
Here are the rules which will be laid out in the OP tomorrow and will not allow any exceptions:
1. GMs are allowed TWO trades and ONE depth trade per year, with each year beginning and ending at the time of the draft.
2. GMs cannot involve more than FOUR roster players or SIX total pieces into a trade.
3. Players with the "franchise" tag CANNOT be moved for three years after being given the tag unless they are sent another franchise player back, the trade is an overpayment in favor of that player, the franchise player is a UFA, or the player is over the age of 35.
From now on I will make sure not to allow issues like this recent one to happen in the future. Nashville may make a depth move, but is not allotted any more trades for the season. Calgary still has two trades to make and one depth trade. I apologize for this getting out of hand and take full responsibility for the issue.
