I'd be happy with 2 points on the weekend, would give us 5/8 points for the week.

Starting Sunday, we have a long 5 game road trip. Gonna be tough, but most of them are games we "should win" games.

We have a lot to work on and most recently how to integrate Ryder into our system because (I know it's early and he literally just flew in) but Rydes played like it's the old Habs and he's gonna need time and a few practices.
Thats not really a problem, thats just hockey bro.

You can dominate a team and lose 1-0 due to a hot goalie and a lucky bounce.

Next game they could dominate you but your PP clicks and you win 3-2.

Hockey is neat like that.

Confident against the Pens. I say Ryder gets one. He's got some of his best career stats against them:

vs Pittsburgh 30 10 15 25 +11

The team has off today, so that's why there's no news.

If we go something like 3-3 in the next 6 games, we'll be in a really good spot. We just need to tread water in this stretch and avoid a 1-5 type disaster.

yup,

Pens, Bruins, Islanders, Canes, Lighting and Panthers

Other than the first two, its not bad other than there all on the road.

Troll Boston by playing Budaj, so they will think they are better than us

If the Habs stay within their team system and Price plays well...they will win a lot more than they lose. Boston a much bigger test than Pitt I think

Generally asking

Who is the mind behind all of this?

The system in place is been amazing, I mean the team is allow very few shots against, getting some hots, scoring ratio 5on5 is one of the best in the league...

I ask because when hired, I read that Therrien was a guy that would change the culture and he was good in help young players, but that he was a bad O's and X's coach, I read the same thing for Gallant, maybe Daigneault, and Jodoin.

Anybody have any details, I mean the team isn't just wining, but on most nights, coach staff is out coaching the other team.

I got off by 1 point; I lost. The consequence was a humilation avatar for 1 week; up until after the Boston game.

Interesting question. On 24CH, we've seen Jodoin dish out PP strategy/advice to the team, but we haven't seen who is in charge of 5 on 5 in the team meetings, IIRC. It may be a group effort between the coaching staff.

Therrien spending so much time out of the coaching ranks might have also helped him come up with this system.

Agree, but its really surprising, for me atleast, because none of them have spend time in the NHL for a long time, Gallant in juniors, JJ and Jodoin in the AHL, and MT did a little scouting past few years.

I remember MT saying in the first episode of 24CH that he kept the coaches busy during the lock out, so maybe that might have been a huge plus, scouting thru video, etc.

habs have always been good against the Pens plus without Malkin i like our odds.

Plus we owe the bruins they didn't deserve the w last time let's go steal one in Boston.

This year the teams believes in the system and trusts the coach they are playing as one and with Price Subban, Markov, Paciorretty, galcehnyuk, Plekanec has the core we have a good team.

I remenber calling a 5th place this year for the habs and i was called an idiot well i think i'm looking good now.

I believed we were a bubble team playing over our heads earlier in the season. Seeing our reaction after the 6 - 0 slap we got from Toronto, I changed my mind. Bubble teams don't come back with a point in every game after a 6-0 loss.

Huge games this weekend, hope Price gets the start in both of them. Need to take advantage of some sub-par goaltending recently from Pitts, and shut down Crosby. Hoping for a win!

If the Habs play like they've been playing and Price doesn't let in any soft goals, I don't see why the Habs can't win BOTH games. They need to capitalize on their scoring chances more.
