Roadrunners Beaten by Baby Leafs

TORONTO, ON - Despite scoring a season high three power play goals, the Toronto Roadrunners dropped a 5-3 decision to the St. John's Maple Leafs on Friday night at the Ricoh Coliseum.

Doug Lynch and Nate DiCasmirro led the way offensively for the Roadrunners recording one goal and one assist each. Jeff Woywitka, with his first American Hockey League goal, also scored for the Roadrunners.

Aaron Gavey (2 goals), Kyle Wellwood (1 goal, 1 assist), Carlo Colaiacovo (2 assists) and Clarke Wilm (2 assists) had multi-point games for St. John's. Jay Harrison and Harold Druken added the other Leaf goals.

Between the pipes, Michael Morrison stopped 29 shots for the Roadrunners. St. John's goaltender Mikael Tellqvist made 25 saves and recorded his fifth victory of the season.

The Roadrunners next game is Sunday December 21st at 5:00 p.m. when the Cleveland Barons visit the Ricoh Coliseum.

For those who didn't watch the game, Woywitka played well.

Big kid, great skater, great positioning.

Tony S. was a huge factor as well... he drew a couple penalties.

I chose to watch the game over the Leafs/Caps game.
