I wonder why he wants to leave the Ducks. I could see it last year but they have a good team this year.

Lots of speculation in the english sports stations here in Montreal that he could end up here.

Hope it's true, we definitely have the cap space.

Won't they trade him before they lose him? So I would say Detroit or any western conference team is beat.

Montreal offers $8M.

I doubt any other team has as much spending power and cap space then the Habs. (thank you Dallas!)

I'm guessing they keep him for a cup run as he won't get as much in return as he would have before the season started.
He can still pull a good prospect, a middle six type, and a 1st.

A guy who has true value. Anything short of a 1st, top 6 fwd or top 4 D, top prospect and role player/lesser prospect wouldn't even be worth considering.

Every team can use a Corey Perry. I think he'd look great in blue and white.

My bet is he gets shipped to an Eastern Conference team though.

How often do we see sign and trade? Answer: never.

He will be traded and he will be a UFA come July.

Yeah, they won't get anything back that would replace him immediately, and they're doing too well to abandon him right now; the wheels would have to completely fall off for him to be traded during the season.

And then Perry goes UFA.

He's going to test the market.

He is a UFA. He is worth a 1st and a roster player.

1st and any prospect (s) from Boston? If you want a roster player, Horton +?

Would include a conditional 3rd if he re-signs.

Actually, at this point the Wings could match that, but I was saving room for Semin as well.

Habs please... Bergevin, get to work with all that cap space you've got.

That's a lot to give up considering Edmonton likely is not going to win it all this year and he could bolt in the summer.

As a kings fan I hope he signs out east.....if not with LA that is.

If he doesn't resign with the Ducks and hits the Free Agent market, I see him going to Detroit for some reason. It just seems like a good fit to me.

Montreal
Toronto

I dont think anyone was suggesting the Habs would trade for his rights...

Certainly if he hits the open market the Habs would be interested and could throw alot of money at Perry. But really, wouldn't most teams have interest in a UFA Perry?
