Like he said, "they didn't want no traffic charges." They were looking for something more.

While watching the Super Bowl, did anyone notice that Anquan Boldin of the Baltimore Ravens looks a lot like Avon Barksdale?

Both are from or play in Baltimore, coincidence?

Browsing random Youtube videos this morning and ended up watching "The Wire Behind the Scenes" for S5

Highly interesting commentary that goes along well with the series

Would strongly recommend watching

Love Jay Landesman character, that always eating buffoon.... Looks mostly all the time as a comic relief, but then again, the only time he does real detective works (after Kima shooting) he looks like a heck of a detective....

such a great show....

Reading Homicide right now, and the real Jay Landsman is quite the character too...

David Simon and company were contemplating a season 6 about the rising hispanic population in Baltimore, but ultimately felt that they weren't knowledgable enough on the topic to go through with it. It also didn't help that HBO was strongly considering not giving them a season 5 at all to begin with. (David Simon had to practically beg them for 10.5 more episodes).

I was thinking, with all the ****** movies and TV shows having their idiot fans waste their money on a kickstarter campaign that someone should organize one for a season 6 of the wire. Treme is over after this shortened season so David Simon will have free time. I feel there is still an untold story to be shown and that there would be a huge demand for a season 6. Obviously with Omar dead, Carcetti on GoT/ (and governor anyway) and a few others getting big roles there would be a few characters missing, but there are still lots of characters left that I'm sure would jump at returning to the show.I know I would put up $500 on a kickstarter for a season 6 of the wire.

The homeless serial killer storyline was far from brilliant and deviated far too much from the typical Wire storylines.

The detective wake at Kavanaugh's for Ray Cole was a great scene.

I thought the ending was great. No matter how hard you try, someone will fill the roles.
All that changes is the names. There will always be McNulty, an Omar, a Carcetti.

The series ended beautifully. I do not want to see another season.
