Jacob Trouba stats

Michigan Wolverine GP: 29 G:9 A:14 Pts: 23 Pen:70 (4 majors) 91 shots on goal, 37 blocks

6,2 195 shoots : right

The kid is only 18, a freshman on a weak team, playing against guy that are sometimes 4-5 years older than him.
<
The kid (I saw him play 4-5 times on tv + at the WJC) and on Bender side.

This kid has the potential to a solid top 2.

The problem with comparing a MDZ or Trouba trade is that the other piece/s that comes along in the deal won't be equal. A MDZ + Kreider trade is much better value than a Trouba + Jokinen, or likewise a Trouba + Little deal is better than MDZ + Fasth deal.

I concur, and we know Hejda and Barrie have some synergy.

Why don't we just trade him for Kuli straight up in the summer after we've drafted Drouin and fired Sacco?

McGinn - Duchene - Parenteau
Landeskog - Stastny - Drouin
Jones - Sgarbossa/Malkin - Downie
Highlander - Malkin/Olver - Olver/whatever

Kulikov - Johnson
Hejda - Barrie
Wilson/Siemens - Elliott
Orr'Brien

Varly
Giggy

and boom, playoffs.

Does file an offersheet imply that he's signed it?

$6.5M next season? Those ****ers.

Only a $5M cap hit so I hope we match.

We'd have to qualify O'Reilly for $6.5M after next season.

Only choice is to match. Pick compensation is not nearly enough and no real key pieces available from Calgary that would warrant a trade compensation to not match.

Seriously...this seems pretty cut-and-dry to me, if we screw this up and accept picks or a weak Flames package of players I am going to be livid.

If Avs walk away, I believe this nets us a 1st rounder...which looks to be a potential top 10 pick.

O'Reilly details more clearly: 2 yrs .. 5M AAV ... 1m salary this year and 2.5 SB ... 6.5M salary next year.

I know. That's the part that sucks. Maybe they'll get over it and re-sign long-term though. Or they could always trade him after next season.
