I think it's more likely to be a mid first round than a top five pick if Avs don't match.

Looks like a 1st and 3rd round pick. Guessing those would be around 10-15 and 70-75. It would be bad to not match IMO.

Calgary's done a good job of getting rid of all their picks and remaining mediocre. I'm very tempted to let them continue doing that.

$6.5M just to qualify him? So, if he becomes a superstar, great. Anything less and he can walk? Also, not sure the Avs want to be the ones paying him - say what you want about pride over business, but no one likes to be held hostage. And that's not peanuts, no matter the cap room they've got.
