Long term, obviously not, but I'd still give up a hell of a lot just to get a Cup run out of him and really go for it all. We have such a deep prospect pool, and not exactly a ton of slots to fill, that I would be all in favor of selling a few prospects just for essentially one playoff run out of Perry.
Anaheim is one of the favorites to win the Cup now, they aren't freaking trading Perry.
Depends on what we are talking about. Obviously Anaheim is a budget team and needs to think a little outside the box. If we are talking something like RoR and a nice plus added on, I mean, you really have to consider that. However, if the package isn't really, really good both this season and into the future then I agree for sure, you keep him and let him walk if he wants to go (which it seems that he does).
I'm sure there were other teams that filed offer sheets, but ROR picked the Calgary one.
I'm just glad something happened. I am not an Avs fan, so I haven't been emotionally involved and did not keep close tabs on the situation, but it's nice that a resolution is on the way. If I am Colorado, I take another pick. You can have two top-ten picks. You also get a third, too.
