Decided to stay up and watch the Blues - Avs last night. Sure didn't think it was going to be the goalie duel that it turned out to be. Tarasenko got his world rocked by Oliver. Pretty entertaining game, all in all.

edit: Here's the video of the hit.

I was also surprised, and all I kept thinking while watching was how much of a meltdown this board would have had if we had been shutout by the Avs banged up D- we scored 5 goals and had almost 40 shots on goal against them on Monday and people were griping about that!

And just like that, the Canucks put 3 in the net on the Red Wings in the first period, something we couldn't do once in 60- sigh..........

Both of these teams shut us out. Scored 6 combined goals on each other so far, 5 in the first period.

*sigh*

and Detroit tacks on another 5 for good measure.

I was listening to the Vancouver feed on the radio while I was walking my dog, and all the announcers could blather about was how Detroit played hockey the right way, and how high scoring games were entertaining. Wonder if they still felt the way at the end of the game??

Mathieu Perreault. Yanic retired years ago.

And it was Zolnierczyk, who will likely be sitting for a couple of games after that. For a guy who went to Brown, he's not very smart.

I'm old, I see Perreault and I think YANIC! When I see dirty on Philly I see Rinaldo.

If anyone hasn't seen the video of Milbury tearing Ovechkin a new one, go watch it right now. Epic rant.

Flames will be giving up some very nice picks if this goes through.

I like either scenario for the Avs.

Looks like Feaster did Sherman's job for him. He'll be an RFA again in two years, so Colorado can just match and go about their business.

If it was over 4-5 years then I'd be a little more upset about it.

If they match they pay him 3M for a few games this year and 6.5M next year. Also have to qualify him at 6.5M at the end of next season, which happens to be the exact same time Landeskog and Duchene need new contracts.

They definitely wont just match and go about their business, they've got some serious issues to think about.

If I'm Colorado, no chance I match that. You get 1st+3rd, and Calgary's pick could be #1 overall with the new system.

Could being the keyword there. The odds are so incredibly low though unless they finish bottom 5 or so. I think Calgary ends up in the 10-14 range with ROR, which makes this decision much tougher.

Colorado should match, but then again I'm not sure I'd want that drama queen on my team if I'm Colorado.
