"I used to pray for good things . I used to ask the Hockey Gods for puck luck for the NYR .

Not happy with the way CK was handled. But since he was getting crappy minutes up here, might as well send him to CT. So now Bickel is in the lineup solidifying our two 4th line system.
It's time to see what Kreider is made of. He can take this move as a slap in the face and let it be a set back. Or he can take this move the way Callahan did — as an opportunity.
Good. Now he can play 20 minutes with Mashinter instead of 4!
Just kidding...the kid has to be given time. Don't keep sending him up and down. Keep him there for at least a month.
Although I don't know what JT Miller is still doing in NY.
I think JT has shown patience and poise with the puck... That alone is enough to keep him here. He may very get sent back at some point but right now he doesn't look out of place and has made some smart moves/passes on the breakout especially.
Something this team needs to be much better at as a whole.

Definitely. He's doesn't panic with the puck and he finishes his checks hard. He'll put some more points on the boards and is gaining great experience at 19.
This idea that you should just give ice time to guys is crazy... Kreider didn't earn it and they are doing the right thing. And it's not like Torts cares one bit about how old someone is or how much they get paid. Kreider was just going through the motions for the most part.
Kreider needs to play. Not on the 4th line. The Whale have 2 games this weekend. Friday and Sunday afternoon. They play on Tuesday. 3 games next weekend. The young man needs to play. You can make the argument for JT Miller. He needs to play too. Miller looks so much better in the middle than on left wing. Torts likes Miller on the wing because there is less defensive responsibility at center.

I think they should absolutely send Miller back down. This a waste of time for him being with the big club. Give him ice time. In fact, let him and Kreider play together up in Hartford and get comfortable together. Let them build up some common chemistry, and try again later in the season, or next year. They need icetime, not sheltered minutes.

But what if hes better than the guys who will now get the ice time?
If Miller isn't staying at C then they should send him down after they get a few more wins and bring up another winger to take his place. I agree that he and Kreider should be put in a position to build chemistry together
They should send down Miller as well, and they should have done it earlier so his contract could slide.

I think the Rangers should give me ice time with Nash and Gaborik to prove what I've got. A few dozen games, getting paid $20k per game is only fair. This lack of opportunity from Torts is really not fair.

so... richards earns 20 minutes a night right now? i don't ****ing think so. i'm content with the decision to send kreider down, but let's not make it seem like torts does these things with any form of consistency whatsoever...
i also don't think miller has played at the same level as kreider, but kreider is sent down over miller because more is expected of kreider and he could stand to get some extra minutes to develop the things that he hasn't been able to improve yet.

If Miller goes down the forward group gets uglier. I agree he is probably better off in Hartford. But the Rangers are better off with him here considering the other options. Bickel in for Kreider is enough of a step down. Who goes in for Miller?

Can't we acquire a solid bottom-6 guy for a second or third round pick? Isn't it better than screwing with a top prospect?
In my dream world I wish the Bruins could acquire Kreider but I can not come up with a fair pitch beyond offering the Bruins first rd pick and maybe a 4th since this draft is supposed to be a deep draft...... maybe also toss in Krug?
