ahh yes, the good old "undisclosed lower body injury".

**** me, that martin injury will probably prevent Bylsma from getting canned.

I don't think the current situation can continue, but Shero is pathologically patient. He'll bide his time; that's how he operates.

They're not a joke because they had a bad start. I would NOT want to play them in a series with this lineup. Don't forget about Montreal either. Thank god the Isles and probably Toronto won't make the playoffs or I'd put them on that list to. Seriously.
The team just looked flat out horrible tonight, probably the worst I've seen in the last year or so. Even in the Flyers series we were generating chances left and right. I just don't think there are a lot of parallels to draw here, even if there are some of the same symptoms present.

If we're playing this poorly this season according to people and still are one of the top teams in the league, it stands to reason that the team can improve and be a force, especially with some deadline acquistions to fill some holes. A little patience goes a long way.

Valid points, but he still turns the puck over way too much and doesn't try to push the pace and play up to his talent level. When was the last time Crosby really took over a game? He's looked like he's been mailing it in as well. Just not as much as the rest of the team.

This reminded me of the Toronto game that got Therrien **** canned. We made a meh team look like the 80's Oilers, and you couldn't even blame the **** goaltending. I'm sure there have been some real turds in between, but I'm hard pressed to remember one like this where Fleury was a big plus.

Shero has made some great moves, but by the same token, he's really not done nearly as much as he should and could have.

Seriously, I wouldn't mind never seeing Tanner Glass in the lineup ever again.
- Despres not being in the lineup. He better be in vs Monreal.

I think it is time to move Orpik, picks, and prospects for some offensive depth.
For as much as we've disagreed about a lot of things, I've got to say that this is a ballsy prescription (and one with which I do NOT disagree).

I've NEVER heard of a team being this choosy with free agents and draftees. The draft is one thing because it's far from an exact science, so I can allow for a lot of leeway there (the questionable success of their strategy being a "win now" franchise is another conversation), but seriously it's ridiculous with these free agents.

We've passed on so, so, SO many players because they didn't play exactly like "Penguins". The whole time the majority of people supported this because 'this team is special.' Well guess what it's 3-4 years later and we're short on offensive depth. One of our studs gets hurt and there isn't enough hands and creativity to propel us to win now that Staal's gone. We have a great pool of D prospects, but who the hell cares? The Cup is the goal, not to have a stacked D five years from now.

MAF is playing really well right now but eventually when your def plays like this goalies lose their confidence. Just like last years playoffs. Looks like TV is already heading down that road.

All our D sucked except for PM

Letang is like a D version of TK almost, all spastic and can't make simple plays
Niskanen was terrible today; has been average at best since he came back
Orpik cant make a short pass and hurts the transition game and is useless in the o zone
Engelands been shaky all year
Bortuzzo other than a few games has been meh

Shero inherited the hand that Craig Patrick dealt him. He played it masterfully right up until the Pens won the cup. And, then he became complacent.
