Give it up for Scott Walker

- One of the few bright spots during our first 5 years of losing
- Consistently the hardest working Predator in our history
- Played a huge role in our inaugural playoff berth
- Was a true leader of our team
- Always went out the way for the fans
- Always a class act

While on paper he might seem expendable, he won't be replaced easily.

It's hard to see such a heart and soul guy go, he'll be missed.

After the contraction comments, I find it harder to cheer for him.

I'm surprised more people do not agree with you. There were a lot, and I mean A LOT, of pred fans on both boards upset by his comments. Once the season started, they seemed to kick it under the table, which surprised me.

I enjoyed Walker's stay here. He was truly a pleasure to watch. Hopefully Vasicek earns his keep.

Walker was the first EVER player that I stood in line just to get his autograph and a photo with him. That was January 2005. He became favorite of mine at that time.

Then came the lock-out year. During training camp last year, I voiced my thoughts and feelings to Walks face-to-face. Afterward, I told him that he was still one of my babies and he laughed and said thanks.

I wish Walks well and success with Carolina.

Walker has always voiced his opinion without thinking twice. He said some things that came off wrong. There's no doubt in my mind that his heart was with this team, his teammates, and the Nashville fans.

Yeah, it's part of his personality as "the Wild Thing" to stick his foot in his mouth on occasion. I'm sure that's a big part of why he never wore the "C" but he was a leader, none the less.

I wish him well and hope he has success.

I'll miss him playing for the preds no doubt. I wish Walks all the best in Carolina. There aren't many players like Walks left in the NHL.

I have heard Walker is a good guy in the locker room leadership wise. Just curious - what exactly were the comments Walker made about contraction ?

As a Hurricanes fan I am excited about the addition of Walker..... Hate to see Vasicek go in a way but maybe the move will light a much needed fire under him.

If he plays like he use to he is a most capable player but since his injury he just seems to have lost all conifidence in his game especially the physical aspect of it.

Slow and lumbering was how he looked when he returned last year - maybe the off season has given him more time to heal and find his game.

Good Luck with him.

He said that maybe contraction was something that needed to be looked at as a possiblity, funny, the first teams that pop up are generally, Nashville, Carolina, Atlanta and Florida.

I've heard rumblings that Walker was upset about not bring Johnny back and the possiblity Sullivan was going to be made captain but cannot confirm this. I do know Poile said what they were at disagreement on the direction of the team, whatever that means.

Scott Walker has done alot for this team, being one of the faces and feel good stories of the team. I have some great memories of Scott playing for us, but my favorite was probably his hat trick against Colorado. I'm pretty sure that was the first home hat trick. What was funny about it was people threw their hats on the ice but his second goal was changed later. Walker evenutally got the real third though.

I can't really talk bad about Walker. He's been a great player for us and has helped take us to where we are. Its sad to see him go, but you eventually have to move on.

Yeah, he made some comments that we didn't like, but he was in the middle of a negotiation. If our four guys go to arbitration, hurtful comments will be made there too.

He was doing his job. He may not have even agreed with what he was saying.

I respect him for having the guts to say those things. At that point, he was part of a whole, not standing on an island.

Thoroughly enjoyed his stay here. Helped build our team to what it is.

I happen to be a multiple season ticket holder so I guess that means that I also live in Nashville (or close by) and could also have acquaitances or friends of friends.......Not trying to cause distress, just a simple request. I don't take things for face value just because of "rumblings", just was asking for a more legitimate or verifiable source. Do you believe everything my bird cage liner, the Tennessean, calls an article?

Oh I didn't think you were trying to cause distress Mikka....I was just explaining why some of us lately have shared things that we didn't have a "source" to give for the information we were sharing (and I must say, most of what has been shared has turned out to be "dead on"....

I would hardly call the Tennessean a "source".....
